Post Disabled WRX...

Well on april 2nd of 2001, I picked up my 2002 blue wrx 5- speed sedan. This was my first new car ever and I was extremely excited about it. Every day i drove it, i felt like a million bucks. Atleast 4-5 people daily would compliment and give the thumbs up or honk to acknowledge my beautiful car. Well, i was driving to work on april 12th in the right lane of the major road in town, some lady in a 4- door accord pulled out of the local mall and onto the main road into the middle lane, about 200 feet in front of us there was one of those turn- arounds not to be mistaken with a u-turn. Well this lady was like 3/4 of a car length ahead of me when all of a sudden wih no blinker or nothing she swerved into my lane and slammed into the front end of my car trying to get into the turn-around. Both of our cars went off the road and stopped in the turn around. I sat in the car and felt my heart sink. I got out and looked at the damage, well the feeling i had would be like getting hit with a bat by Sammy Sosa. It was by far the worst possible feeling in the world. The whole left side of my front bumper and side panel were smashed, along with the hood being bulged and the headlight cracked along the road. All the lady kept saying was "look at my car, look at my car" never once did she ask if i was ok. At this point, i was ready to kill someone. I walked about 50 feet away onto this hill and starting screaming and cursing and punching this tree with my fist. I had to leave because if i didn't, i would be writing this letter to you guys and girls in jail. Well, the cops arrive about 5 minutes later with like 2 ambulances and 2 fire trucks. The cop steps out of the car and the first thing he does is walk up to me and say " you must have been driving like an *******" I was in total shock, he didn't even know anything yet and already came to this assumption. He than asked me how fast i was going and I said 40 mph. I was probably doing about 35, but i said 40. Speed limit was 45 mind you and wasn't alot of traffic. He was like you got up to 40 mph that quick, i was like i turned on this road about 1/2 mile ago, that isn't that difficult. he was like well that is too fast for the traffic at this time, there wasn't even enough cars to call it traffic. the officer than walked away and starting talking to the lady in the accord for like 5 minutes and comes back and says well, she says you were behind her in the middle lane and than switched to the right lane and speed up and that is when she hit you and i said i was in the right lane the whole time, well we also have a witness saying you were weaving in and out of traffic, i said all the way when i turned on the road, i got into the middle lane and immediately tured into the right lane. I aksed him to ask the witness if that is what happened and he said yes but that is still weaving in and out of traffic, i was like you have to be serious. anyways, the cop never really asked me my side of the story just listened to the other lady. The lady got into the ambulance claiming her neck hurt, what a joke! At the end , he asked me who i would prefer for towing and if i needed to call anyone, well i did want to call someone. I called my father who happens to be a very respected and well - known police officer in the next town. The guy's face almost dropped when I said can you call the city of poughkeepsie police department and ask for detective sergeant kevin o'neil, my father. He than knew he just royally focked up!!! He handed me the paper work and was gone. also, when my friend drove by in his S4 and saw that i got in an accident he stopped to see if I was ok, and the cop was like get the hell out of here and he told me well i won't give you a ticket for this accident. This was all before i told him about my father, than he kind of shut up and left. Well, a month later and i am picking up my car from the shop tomorrow. The accident is going to be deemed 100%-0 most likely, and my dad is calling up the guy's boss tmrw whome he is pretty good friend's of and telling him the whole story, i have a good feeling this guy won't be working there, or will be on the boss' big time sh*it list for a while!!! When you see a 17 year old kid with a brand new car you can't automatically assume daddy bouhg it and he was for sure being an idiot with it. I hope that guy pays for being such a ******!!! Well sorry for the super long post, just wanted to get this all out and tmrw i will be enjoying my WRX that i bought with my own money!!!

No accidents here. But for some reason, certain fookers don't realize that I'm one car back from them in the next lane over, and they just merge right in front of me by about a bumper's length! Honking the POS horn doesn't do any good! I need HELLA's!

Sorry about your accident, buddy.

Real sorry to hear about the car - hopefully the skid marks etc. will prove beyond a doubt your not at fault.

Anyway - look at it like this - after all is said and done - you are still going to be driving a WRX - not only that but a WRX you earned.

I didn`t get my first car till I was 25.

Coming from Ireland I never needed one - my first car was a `67 Camaro RS nice and clean. My second was a 2000 scoobie RS.

The week after I picked up my scoobie I parked it on the street for once - normally leave it in the alley in front of my garage - just to make sure my girlfriend could get parking in front of my garage.

Came out and someone had taken a chunk out of the nose of it trying to park in front of me. No note nothing.... just a screwed up nose.

Ah well - it still goes sideways on off / on ramps the same ;-)

Cool

Skylab:
Get those Hella Supertones. you will LOVE the things. having an 01 myself, I know exactly how pitiful those horns are.
Supertone horns are there to alert someone and help avert an accident. The 01 RS horn is there to politely and gently let someone know you appreciate them cutting you off. (If their radio isn't on, since they won't hear you otherwise)

Sorry about your troubles. I know how you feel, but......."the worst possible feeling in the world"? I don't think your situation even comes close to that.

Dam, dude, that's an awful story. I'm glad too that you weren't hurt to bad. I love to rant and rave about stupid cops. I bet the woman was semi-attractive, right or wrong? And the cop just couldn't get past that. I hope I'm wrong, but tell us.

I had a similar inciedent happen while I was driving my fiat x1/9. Some little old lady blew through a stop sign and drove right across the road in front of me. I was doing 35, I tagged her rear quarter panel and we both slid off the road into the yard of a house on the corner. Not much damage to her car, I hit the rear wheel. My little fiat was totaled. The cop claimed that I didn't try to stop, even though there were skid marks. He claimed the skid marks were from the cars sliding, even though the marks were well before the impact area. The judge took the cops word. The lady didn't show up for court, I got nailed. Points off my license etc. It was a zoo court. Frostburg MD court and police and are corrupt as hell. The accident was clearly her fault, I had the right of way. 9x out of 10 the police don't really care who is guilty, just as long as they get somebody. Chances are they got the lady too. All they care about is revenue.

My story goes like this: I was driving my '93 Typhoon at about 6:00am on a Sunday morning to get some take-out coffee. I am on a 6 lane road with a center turn lane in front of the mall. Road is completely deserted. I pull into the left turn lane in the middle. I'm waiting for the light to change so I can turn left. I look in my rearview mirror, and here comes this '80s caddy into my lane from the rear. Drives straight into my ass at probably 30 mph. The only thing I could do was take my foot off the brake just before he hit me so as to lessen the impact. The guy was about 75 with his granddaughter in the car. I guess he just completely zoned out. Cop gave him a ticket for failure to yield. Typhoon was whacked for $4k in damages.

that is serious bull man...I'm always paraniod of some jerk hitting my car because the way it looks, a cop around here will probably automatically assume I'm some punk kid that was racing or showing off with the shiny new car I bought with daddy's money, when in reality I probably make more than the cop does...

If somebody did that to me and then played it off as my fault at this moment right now this very second they would be dead.

I am almost praying that somebody fscks with me on my 3 block commute home in 30 minutes so I will have an excuse to vent on their ass.

Maybe I just need to punch some more walls here at the office. Not like anyone will care, the company is closing it down in 2 weeks.

Cheap ass office walls.

Well the lady wasn't attractive at all, quite frankly she was pretty nasty. It wasn't the worst feeling in the world, but at 17 it is right up in the top 5. I had to call my friend from work to cool me off because i was going nuts. I have a pretty bad temper as it is, and some lady just nailed my brand new car and was blaming me, she is lucky she ain't in the E.R. Well anyways, I picked up the car today and well it looks perfect. The clutch feels a little softer than whan i brought it in, but maybe because it was like 90 degrees out, it has the same mileage when i brought it in, so i know nobody was messing with it. i know the owner of the shop, he would kill whoever tried to drive it anyways. When i picked it up, all the guys was like is that the new WRX and i was like yeah. They wer like that thing is super fast and i was like yeah it moves around town quickly. The owner of the shop has a new vette z06, so he knows what FAST is. Well if you want a good body shop, northside auto repair in poughkeepsie ny is the best around town. Also, if any of you guys want my old hood even though it has a bulge in it is welcome to have it, i could probably buy it back from him for dirt cheap or anything from the front end, let me know. Thanks alot!!!
