Default Federal Way area... Who Goes To Church? What Church to look into?

As grown up as a Christian, my parents maybe went to Sunday Church when i was till about 6years of age so I personally don't have any memory of even going to Church as most/some/none of you in whatever beliefs or religion you come from do. Being 25 years old now, not really knowing anyone around the area yet, getting my life seriously put together, and have a amazing beautiful 13month old daughter that is pretty much my life... Thinking about taking some steps and hopefully getting the chance to experience going to Church. Not sure if it would be just a occational once every other week, once a month, or like it enough to do it every single week. Kind of just lost and don't know where to start, if it's appropriate taking my daughter at a young age since she doesn't like sitting still/being quiet for very long, what to wear/what not to, how long does it last, what church to even go to, who to talk to, what to expect,... List can go on with questions and concerns but really would like to know where to start and some good info. Ideal location would be around the Federal Way/Edgewood/Milton area that is closest to me.

Fantastic church (kid/youth programs too), went there for a while before I moved. (Did scouts there too for about a year when I was a kid) One of my friends from work has gone there for years and he really enjoys it there. Check it out for sure.

Great pastors, pretty young crowd in the later services which I always enjoyed.

Was just going to post this. A pretty good mix of people and Pastor Steve is a good guy and doesn't drag things out too much which I appreciate.

edit: just looked over your post. Dress is super casual and they have care for the kids while service is going so you can drop off your daughter and pick her up afterwards

they have a nursery for all services, even for newborns. and lots of ladies who love babies.

what to wear/what not to, how long does it last
you can wear what you feel comfortable to be in in public. you will see many church members wearing suits, but that is their personal conviction (i am a 50% suit wearer, just depends on how im feeling) services are usually an hour, but on occasion go a little longer.

what church to even go to, who to talk to,
i recommend our church, obviously you can talk to whoever you like, of course. if you mean one of the pastors, there is pastor smith the senior pastor, and pastor kirchner the associate. pastor smith is not too old and 'otherworldly' like you might find in other fundamental, conventional pastors, so if you can meet him, i would recommend it. our church is an independent, fundamental baptist church. it is not tied into any larger "corporate" churches, and teaches the bible as doctrinal truth.

what to expect,...
well, people are friendly... just a warning. we were a little shocked at first how many people really wanted to come and meet us the first few times we attended as visitors. at first i thought they were fake and it turned us off, but in hindsight i now know they really do care about meeting visitors, and just want you to feel welcomed.
its also not a "sing song, feel good" kind of church. sure, we have a choir and sing a few hymns as a congregation, but that doesnt comprise the majority of the service. and the service message isnt always about feel good topics, telling you about how much God loves you and how youre such a good person. yes, God DOES love you, but you certainly dont deserve it!

our church is located 5714 29th Street Northeast Tacoma WA 98422
so if you went west on 348th to 1st ave south, make a left (south) and then turn right (west) on 356th. stay on that road and you will run into the white and red church about a mile down the road. so i think thats exactly in your neck of the woods.

My oldest boy (18) likes this church. Its pretty big (congregation) and seems to have a lot going on usually. Its in Sumner, right off of Hwy 410.

It's cool to hear you're working on getting things solid in your life. Finding a church can be a bit intimidating. From my experience attend several different ones to see how they are to you. At 25 you may want to see if they have a post-college group. From there re-attend your favorites. Consistently going is a challenge, but it's how you'll feel more apart of the church and get to know people. Some churches are quite formal- people dress up, organ music, and is somewhat mellow. Others are quite informal- jeans, band, etc. And some are in between. For me Northwest Church was a bit too charismatic for me, but that was 15 years ago, howeverer, I currently attend a foursquare church in Spokane- Life Center- that although is apart of the same national denomination is different. If you're ever over this way check it out: http://www.lifecenter.net/
