Default Swapping stock 2.25" exhaust piping for 3"???

Quick and simple, I think? Would it be worth while to swap the stock 2.25" piping on my 03 wrx for 3"piping. I'm not real kean on the idea of wasting time with shipping and returning a $1000 exhaust I may or may not enjoy. My idea was to custom weld 3"piping in the place of the 2.25" stock piping while re-using all of the important exhaust items. At this point I'm not really concerned with cost, time, effort etc, more so I'm interested in wether it'll benefit the butt dyno (aka more power).

Oh and by the way I currently have SPT intake, sti up-pipe and a recently performed dyno tune by AWD tuning, just in case that matters.

Hopefully what I am asking is clear, so I can get some reasonable feed back.

Thanks in advance for suggestions.

Oops! Poll should read "WORTH THE WHILE" rather than "with the while".

so you're gonna change all the piping to 3" but then have it up from/neck down to 2.25" using all the stock cats/muffler/resonator?

If that's the case, I'd just save your money.
