Default Anyone failing inspection lately?

Anyone in Massachusetts trying to get an inspection sticker??? I haven't tried yet but am reading that there is a new system in place that basically flags modded ECU's..... Anyone got any info???

It basically comes down to the cat codes and being "ready" if your tune or tuner has them shut off you might get flagged, this isn't new.

This is the same as it has always been. The inspection station is looking for readiness codes. The codes aren't necessarily shut off so much as they're told to shut up.

Neither of the links you shared talk to "modded ECU's" The Audi guys all had no issues, except for the ones that were heavily modified. I love the "This is a huge issue!! I had to change my Stage 3 S4 back to Stage 0!!" (whatever all that means).

If you're just running a normal Cobb or TP tune, you'll be fine. The Inspection station doesn't look for modded ECU's, it looks for readiness codes. Unless your tuner is a complete dunce, these readiness codes will still exist and read just fine.

Inspections are the same. No difference.

I got inspected a few months ago with a jdm motor, aftermarket downpipe, turbo inlet, suspension, lights, gauges etc...

As long as your monitors read ready then you're good to go. I think the max number of non ready monitors is one.

Force pass readiness. Open source and AP can both do it.

There was a change: July 1st inspections got more expensive, now $35. Otherwise the process was 100% identical from my perspective for two cars I took through. Just go get tested and work from there. Worst case they tell you to come back because it isn't ready.

Your perspective is not the same as the computer is what I'm getting at... And a worse case would be getting flagged and sent to a MAC ststion....
