What the hell is going on in here?

I have to figure out funds for ALMS too. My brakes are grinding pretty bad now. That money could be better spent on some fresh pads/rotors and beer for Ian's garage usage... hehe.

What color are you thinking of doing. I got the wheels kit in white base with the gold matelizer(That's 4 cans of base white and 4 cans of gold metalizer). If that's something you're thinking of, I can sell my kit to you. I'm too damn lazy to do it for my car

Probably just black because its the easiest to get ($6/can at home depot) but I want to look into the gunmetal grey color as well. Both are just single color applications. I don't want to deal with the metallic or glossy finishes. So, all though I appreciate the offer, no thanks lol.

Yeah, i was curious to see how it held up, sooo, I went to youtube lol. Saw some done and 6 months down the line they looked amazing still. I'll need to sand down the piss poor job that was done by original owner with regular spray paint before doing the plasti dip though. Everything I've seen for it, they just make sure the wheels are clean and just apply it just like that, pretty sweet, seems easy enough to work with... so i figured I'd try it. May even try and spruce up the old rims and do it. Couldn't hurt and may be able to make a little more than what I'm shooting to get for them.

yeah just follow any internet guide / youtube video and they'll come out fine. It goes on really easy and with 3 coats per wheel you'll only need 3 cans (might as well buy a 4th just in case)

That was pretty much exactly the plan, but... 4 coats and 4 cans. Saw someone do their whole car with that stuff and just spray cans, not even using a gun and the larger gallon stuff. I wanted to try and do my roof with it. I have some blemishes that I'd like to protect so they don't get any worse until i can afford real paint at some point and had looked into vinyl a bit but its expensive in comparison so... this will be the alternative and I can just peel it off if either it sucks or i did i horrible job lol.

try oven cleaner to remove the old paint. accidentally discovered this when repainting headlight shrouds. spray it on, let the foam sit for a few minutes, then spray/scrub it off. might take a couple applications to get all of it, but i was very surprised at how well it works. it even removed all the chrome covering on the shrouds
