The WRX oil pans are larger by about .8 qts. and have an extra baffle a little higher up then the RS pan's baffle. I don't know about tapping it, though.

I can attest for the LudeSpeed pans... VERY nice. I just got two and they are so nice I couldn't even believe it. I test fitted them on my spare motor and they just worked phenominally. Time to go install one on the car.

but is the LudeSpeed pan the same as the stock pan?
actually i used the stock pan with oil return fitting on it but i needed to change to a bigger fitting in order to use a bigger oil return line. After i changed it and welded the new fitting on, the edge of the pan is leaking(probably because after the welding section cooled down, it shrinked a little bit), so right now i glue the edge of the pan.

Yep, the Ludespeed pan is a modified stock pan. Tom welds on a return angled towards the return line from the turbo. He'll need to know how your turbo is going to sit before he can weld on the return. And yes, the return line is quite large, so there is no worrying about the oil not getting back to the pan.
