Default What about non-USA horsepower/track records?

So the USA is nearing high 11s without the aid of nitrous (supposedly).

What are some records of WRXs in other countries? STi included.

Any of them achieve 450+ wheel horsepower? Any 10 second or less ones out there?

Jay

The fastest WRX 1/4 mile time in the world is 10.03 which was done by Rigoli Racing here in Aussie.

BUT

Sub 10's are soon to be driven, as one car in aussie on it's first run did a 10.05 and will definatly beat this time soon.

Big horsepower WRX's are not uncommon here, one of our club members has a WRX (1995) with around 650 horsepwer and about 100k spent on mods.

I think there are a few cars in the US that could run faster than a 11.8. I think Cobb's autox car could run 11s without breaking a sweat. Byron at b-spec? has a GC8 that was rumored to be capable of a 10 second run. As far as elsewhere in the world, the Rigolis have prepped a few 10-second Imprezas. There are a bunch of 11 second capable Imprezas in the world. The older style cars were a bit lighter, especially if you have a Type R or RA. Cosie Convert? on this board was running high 11s on a basically stock 96? Type R with the boost turned up.

He has a '95 RA that recently trapped at nearly 120 mph, IIRC from a scoobynet thread. He's running the stock TD05 at 26 psi, and has 20 psi by 2600 RPM He did this by eliminating the 90 degree elbow that early WRX's had. He also has a waterjacket around his IC, and someone mentioned he is running water injection...all in all, it sounds like he's pretty good at fabrication, which means he's probably spent comparatively little $$$ for his power.
