i have a 2011 sti without sport tech package
Can i retro fit the HID headlights to my car? plug and play?

Hmmmm, I guess you'd have to talk to the dealership. That would probably be pretty pricey.

Nice member number.

Don't bother with STi optics. They are a lot better ones out there especially you're retrofitting them.

TSX, S2000, etc. are superior and they are more available to find, especially used, and cheaper than buying STi projectors.

I thought it was a bad idea to put HID into halogen housings?
Something I read on nasioc I think about the temperature being very hot.
Maybe I misread

It is. Most people buy those Plug and play HID kits and put them in their STOCK halogen projectors or reflectors.

Replace the optic with OEM or aftermarket HID projectors, you'll be fine. It's that simple.

The easiest way to go true retro is to get Morimoto D2S mini projectors and the adaptor brackets sold by Theretrofitsource.com. The process would be almost exactly the same as for '06-'07 headlights.
