Default 17" wheel concerns need advice

Alright I know youve all heard a million different things....will this fit....will that fit this.....blah blah...but I'm new to the scooby world and researched for weeks now n got nothing about this. I have a bone stock 05 sti and wanna get rid of the BBS 17's but I wanna use the brand new tires that are on it. I want to know what is the maximun width rim I can put on the car WITHOUT doing fender rolls etc. The tire is a 225/45/17 and i'm looking at the xxr 526 or rota grids or something along those lines in a 17X9 or whatever sive will work. I wouldnt mind the tire being streched and it would be awesome to get that badass lookin offset, like a +35 or so but that prolly wouldnt work would it? please let me know your thoughts, thank you NATE

whether or not it will fit has more to do with the tire than the wheel in this case and taking everything into consideration you shouldn't rub with a 225 on a 17x9 with a 35mm offset assuming you a proper amount of camber. but the tire is going to be pretty stretched.

aight well I just pretty much need to know what the max width and offset rim I can run without any troubles, rubbing, fender work, etc. with the 225/45/17 tire. would a 17X8 be fine with a +35 offset. I just need some idea's. They got way to many wheel choices out there its hard to decide.
