It's been on the car for a couple of years and has been great! I have not had any leaks, butterfly valve or controller issues, etc.

My Greddy STI exhaust is pretty quiet and even with the exhaust fully opened the sound is not over-powering unless you get on it...pretty noticeable then.

Plus, I get nice Whp gains by having the cut-out.

Interesting layout. I would be very, extremely, super surprised if you gained any more than 1HP with that cutout. If you do have gains, I would guess it's because that muffler has horrible flow. Have you actually dyno'd to see gains? I went from a full 3" Invidia Q300 to a stock 2.25" catback and saw no change. If I were going to do a cutout it would be a dump to atmosphere in the downpipe. Also, how does the sound change when you open the cutout? Significant?

Gregonfire, you missed blurring your plate # in the first pic and you're are making me want to debadge and overlay the tail lights on my 08.

Nice car man.

My cutout vented from the DP like you'd set one up, xluben. It saw ~10whp/10wtq gains.

I miss my car Engine blew up on me so waiting to get a new block

Unfortunately, I don't have any Dynos that show before and after. These are old numbers, but I did record 454Whp/459lb @ 22psi on E85 with the Cut-out CLOSED. With the Cut-out OPEN it made 458Whp/468lbs @ 22psi. That was on the stock block and GT-35R.

Since my tuner COBB Surgeline did see performance gains in having the cut-out open we now perform all high boost/power tunes on all fuels with the cutout open.

On the sound, it's significant in a good way. I have equal length headers and the sound is pretty distinctive with the exhaust open or closed...sounds great open!

So, "nice Whp gains" is 4WHP? So, I saw no measurable difference changing to a restrictive cat back, you saw 4WHP using a cutout that bypasses the muffler, and PurpleHearSti saw 10WHP gains by dumping right after the downpipe. I think this is plenty of info to show that catbacks don't make much of a difference.

I think that can be agreed upon. Though if you go on Perrin's site i think they were claiming gains of 20hp + when the new stealth back came out. That might be a stretch. (sarcasm)

Thanks. It's a 2010. The lip is the n-1 auto cs style lip. I bought it from HPT motorsports.

Haha, I know. The pics as you can tell are from different points in time and I didn't edit all of them. You should definitely debadge yours, it really cleans up the car in my opinion. Thanks for the kind words!

Cutout for me at least = loud noise/dont mess with me/sounds like a rocket. They are fun as hell. I mean 10whp isnt THAT much, but it's better than nothing.

Like I said, those were old numbers...it's NOT meant to be a benchmark. On my configuration, I'm getting much more than that with the cut-out open.

Sorry...missed this.

I use a Tial EWG. I don't dump to atmosphere, but route back into the downpipe.

If you think the stock exhaust drones, then you should probably think twice about getting any aftermarket exhaust lol

Honestly, I'm not interested in going any louder than the stock exhaust. I just want bigger pipes back there!

theres been some talk of some bolt on tips floating around, I think its in the 2011+ thread a ways back. They look better than the non existent stockers, but you pay I think something like $150-200 for them when all they do is make it more noticeable.

Still though, not a bad option if thats all you want out of an exhaust

Yeah, i've seen them but they don't look that great IMO, especially when I could buy a knock off axle back for about that...
