Default How did everyone do up at Bandimere today (7/4/2002)?!

Just curious since I was unable to make it.

Thanks

This was the first time I ran this car at Bandi. My first run was very disappointing 16.5. My 2nd run was much better 15.7. I still have alot of work to do on my driving . I left before the bracket races really got going, as my times were so inconsistent.

WRXHarvey did great, good job man! I'll let him post his time
Harvey: BTW I was reading the wrong lane when I told you my time I am such a newb.

Were you causing a ruckus at the track today Harvey???? Wish I could have been there to see the incredible blue suby make mustangs cry. Did you wear your sherpa outfit? Oh well for those of us who had to work, it is just too bad!

Several stock-ish WRX's only ran 16's up until 3:30 when I left. Now I KNOW I could have kept up with them N/A wise. Jama and his munchkins, tall polynesian fella (pipe up if you're reading this! I suck at names!), we all hung out for while. Brian showed up and ran, but I didn't find him. He had an "interesting" timeslip. A WRx ran a 13.7, I think. Mildly quick imports ran consistent 15's in 90 degree heat at 5800 feet elevation. It was a hot unfriendly day to a lot of faster turbos. A colder September is going to see major differences. We all got a tan out of this deal, too!

Other than that I thought the race was kinda boring. How many 17 second hondas can you watch? Enjoying the company was more fun. There were only 4 guys running in the quick class. A lot of them broke at the line. Ari Yallon ran a 10.46 at 140. A few guys ran 13's, 12's and 11's in the "racecar with plates" class as well. They ran better and more consistently than the 9 sec Hondas. I'm much more impressed with Supras now, too . Not a bad way to blow 15 dollars in my opinion! The hamburger was pretty good too! G

Hamfist, If you are so confident, why weren't you running? I know I would have given you a rematch. I am still working on my launches (2.4 60') but I bet I could have shown you my taillights by half track. j/k, all in good fun.

Thumbs up Oh yeah, WHIIIIIIIZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!

I Rocked!!!
I pulled a 13.77ET today. But I also won a BIG trophy in Super Comp Class as a Semi Finalist (3rd Place!). I lost to a white 4 door Galant(red light). My RTs ranged from a .572 to a .723 and my 60' times sat around 1.95. I don't think the VF30 has a 1.8 unless I launch a little harder. But I was slipping the clutch quickly from 7000 RPMs and not getting any clutch smell, so I think I have figured it out. I got to meet Shiv today too, really cool dude and I couldn't have done so well without his goodies. I RULE!!! I also got a 75$ PAYOUT! Super Comp was the quickest ET bracket and I was up against Turbo Supras and Turbo RX-7s, but I represented for all ya!!!!
It was good to see some of the nicer WRX owners there too (JAMA and WRXTHIS) Who was in the black sedan pulling 13.4s ??? I saw an S4 pulling 13.2 also. SATAN!!!!!

Couldn't you at least come up with something original instead of cutting and pasting from post to post.

Default How close was your red light

How close did you come to cutting a perfect light on that red light pass ?

It sure is frustrating to get the big red eye, but you can't learn to cut it close without missing a few.

If you haven't made a red light you haven't been drag racing.

Default I'm at work that's why I'm up

I'm working now, I was sleeping while you guys were getting dehydrated.

Well you missed a perfect light by only 125 milliseconds, so split the difference between your .572 and this and you will be very close.

I assume you shallow stage ?

GREAT!! Glad to hear that all the subies were well represented there today. WISH I could have seen Harvey's pass and Brett's car. I also wish I could have met Shiv just to beable to put a name with a face .

Well congrats again and I am glad everyone had a good time!! I also read on another board that they saw some WRX with TMIC, exhaust, headers, possibly VF22 (bigger turbo) run a 13.3? Just wondering if anyone knew about this.
