Default Exhaust question.

I have a 2000 2.5rs and i did a 02 sensor test for both the front and rear. The front o2 is bad but the rear is working somewhat, only goes up to about .8 volt the most, wont reach 1, i did the bench test. Awhile back when i bought my car i was getting a p0420 code for the front cat, so i replaced it with a sti cat off my friend which had low miles and i replaced the front o2 sensor. I would still get the code and i would still slightly smell the bad egg odor. So Today i finally took the o2 sensors out and thats when i did the test. So my guess is that the rear cat is the bad cat. So i guess my question is can i still use the front cat that i replaced and just make a straight pipe after that? What do i do for the rear o2 sensor? and what do you guys recommend on what brand to get? The front o2 i replaced that went dead was a bosch. Oh yeah and if i do this, how much louder will my car sound? or probably not that much louder?

sorry for this dumb thread, mods you can delete or lock if want.

Ive decided to just fabricate myself and weld a mid pipe and get rid of the cats. where i live there is no emission anyways. I understand now the difference between the front and rear o2. I may consider putting a resonator on to help quiet down the noise.
