Default Idle issue! 05RS

First off i searched the forum and no one really had an answer to this issue...my car just recently had the speed sensor go bad.. when the CEL was read and then reset my car would idle so low that it would stall out at every stop sign. Had this problem before when i bought a new battery.. but it eventually fixed itself..

When they checked the CEL it threw 2 codes for the MAF low input and Intake Air Temp high input.. I tested my MAF by swapping it with an identical one that was on my buddy's car.. no change.. Thoroughly cleaned the MAF and throttle plate as well as the Intake Air Temp sensor.. Still no change!

I then put in brand new NGK plugs along with NGK wires.. bought them from the Subaru Dealer.. Still nothing changed..

Does anyone know whats going on? i have read that other people had the same issue but no one seems to know a solution. Thanks! Ryan

When you reset the ECU (i.e delete codes or disconnect the battery), you need to turn the car on and let it idle for aproximately 10mn without touching the gas pedal.
The 2005+ imprezas have an electric throttle, so the ECU needs to re-learn a bunch of parameters every time you reset it.

Try it out: reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery, then let it idle for 10mn. The car should idle just fine after that.

Let it idle until the radiator fan comes on - should be about 10 minutes as mentioned above, but might be more.

the fan automatically comes on when i start the car because my ecu is in limp mode from the CEL for the Speedometer gear that isn't fixed yet.. which is a whole other issue but yea i asked the dealership as well as a few friends if the two issues were related and they said probably not ...
