Default Possible problems with rear main seal install

I just removed and installed a new rear main seal while changing my clutch at 145k. when I poped it in with the a 4" pvc coupler, it seated much deeper than it was when I pulled it out. Is this going to be a problem?

Default Thanks for the reply.

Damn. I wonder how i'm going to back this thing out without damaging it now. pisses me off because they always show you hammering these thinks in. I wonder if the oil pressure will push it back into position?

oil pressure will not push it into the correct position. you will most likely have to tear this one out and get a new one, they're not that expensive.

Yep, remove and replace unless you can get it out without any damage (highly unlikely).
