Default P1507 after swaping in Wrx transmission

I have a 98 impreza L with a 98 2.5 rs motor and a 02 wrx tranny and rear diff with a 12lb flywheel and excedy oem clutch. After swaping the tranny in I get a P1507 cel code. I extended the wire to the neutral switch on the new tranny and cleaned my IAC valve. I had to replace the center diff and transfer gears because they mashed together. What is causing this code it puts my car in fail safe mode and it is undrivable unless I unplug the maf sensor but this only makes the code take longer to come on. HELP!!

Update:

I put the Neutral Sensor Switch form my old tranny on the new tranny and the code went away. I have no way of knowing if the other one was bad or if my ecu couldn't decode its signals but it works now so I don't really care.
