I'm not looking for backing, sorry.

I agree 100% with this dudes point, but I don't agree w/ the name calling and the bashing. If he wants to play those games, I can play too. I'm not getting banned anytime soon w/ out a warning anyway. It's pretty clear that all my posts have been retaliation. I've never been on the offensive calling people names or bashing what they believe...but the second they get ugly, I get ugly. Yeah, it's immature, but he started it.

Take a monkey too.:monkey:

Even though this thread is idiotic, I'd just like to say how unimpressive a VR6 powered car is...

At the end of the day, you still just have the cute sorority car with the "bigger low-tech" engine...

why not just get the Cabrio and come out of the closet for Christs sake!

Ok dude... What part makes me close minded? I have a car that run 12.0 @116mph, and a WRX that runs 13.5@97. My WRX is 10 times more fun to drive in any conditions. Way better car.

My point here? I dont care how fast a car is, a fast piece of crap is still a piece of crap. You need to drive a WRX for a while to understand WHY its considered such a good car. But you know that right? Cause your "open minded".

I have a friend from the track that has a new 1.8t and its all done up, thousands in mods and I'm still beating him with my times i ran last season with $200 under my hood.

I know what they run, we raced together all season. I watch everything at the track, and I'm there quite often. So I'm not here saying "boo vw" im stating facts I have collected over many years of being involved with cars.

Why does the WRX get all these awards and impressive articles written about it? O yea... I remember. Close minded journalists, i almost forgot.

And you say what your car "will" run...

Take that comment and go to the Fisher Price "My first drag racing" website cause that dont hold water here. I dont care how much you spent, what kind of parts you bought, or who built it. If you didnt run it, dont brag about what it "should" run, cause it might not run at all.

That is all for now,

And just to add, NO VW is going to run 11's on street tires full weight (or 12's for that matter, are unlikely).

Who cares about a gutted car on slicks? Not me. for you 11's at the track is 13's on the street.

Ok... well considering i am 1 of 4 street driven/street tire all-motor vr6's that ran a 13's all motor. i am fairly confident with my driving skill...and that my car runs strong.

And just for you i will post my timeslips from this weekend as i am just finishing my car... And it will run and i will show you slips and video's just so i can satisfy you.

Now again, Why do you keep trying to tell me how good a wrx is as if i don't know what it's capable of??
When have i said a single thing degrading any concept of the wrx..
I don't need to drive a wrx, to know the handle awsome and run a quick 1/4 mile, any buddy with half a brain should know this.

Yea, i know your not gonna try and compare a turbo ta to a gti in the fun category, trust gti's are plenty fun to drive.
Again i didn't know that gti's were peices of crap ??

I'm sorry to hear that your friend isn't the best driver but if he has thousands in mods he should be comparible to you in e/t if not better.

RocketJohn... Anytime you come to E-Town i'll be more then glad to show you just how unimpressive a vr6 is.

Also i didn't know that saying someone lacks reading comprehension skills, because they can't comprehend what is written as name calling and bashing..
Please show me were i bash a wrx ... please.. or when i make any personal name calling... cause you can't ... I don't argue with personal attacks.

And what about this who has a bigger d!ck complex, ask your fellow WRX owners why they brought 1/4 mile times into this topic... I just merely responded to his post...

Sorry but sometimes the facts hurt..

Sorry buddy, you're just wrong. I've been watching GTI's run for years, not to mention a good friend of mine has an '02 GTI as well. AT BPU (dp, chip, fullexhaust, and now LSD. IE thousands of dollars in mods!!!!) he ran a 14.2 best and mostly runs 14.4-6. IE stock WRX times. I ran 13.83 consistantly with a $4 mod. No GTI is running 13's for a few grand unless they have nitrous (and even then, I've seen so many nitrous VR6's running 14's). I'm sorry you can't accept that your car will always be slower. Just accept it.

[edit] also, no one is talking about slicks. The WRX times aren't with slicks. You don't drive around on slicks. Was your 13 sec slip on slicks? I think so.

Ok Mr. openminded... I was refering to my T/A as the piece of crap, but whatever...

He runs street tires, just like i run on my WRX and on my Turbo T/A. The problem you ask? Both my WRX and T-T/A hook low 1.8 sixty footers on street tires... He cant get under 2.0's. My point? Dont bitch to me about WHY your car doesnt quite cut it. I dont wanna hear "You got AWD" No shi+ i got AWD why you think I bought a WRX? Dont try to make excuses about why the WRX has the unfair advantage because its rediculous.

I did a little "research" before i bought my cars and for some odd reason I dont go around saying "Well you got this and you got that, take off your turbo, race me in FWD..."

I knew what i wanted, and what i planned on doing with it and bought a car that fit my needs. I didnt go out and buy the "pretty" car and try to make it something it isnt, then tell other people they need to give me an advantage cause my cars doesnt quite meet the quota.

Come on dude
Excuses are lame.

You have to understand something. Your comparing an inferior car to the WRX.

Man you guys crack me up, maybe it's something about NJ drivers, maybe it's something about E-Town i dunno..

But Type C #1, I run street tires, Dunlop SP5000's at 20psi, average 2.1 60fts, on all 3 of my 13.9 runs my 60fts where, 2.063,2.080,2.092, my best 60ft on street tires is a 2.030. Yup this in my ALL-Motor FWD, GTI, again perhaps it's just me who can launch a fwd fairly decent. Who knows.

#2 All my friends running nitrous are running 12.2-12.4. with 90shot in 1 car and a 100 shot in the other both of those cars are on slicks however with the bottle. But the car with the 90shot runs 13.5 w/o the bottle on dunlop sp5000's all motor a2 vr6.

#3 Again perhaps it's just that my friends can drive but 3 close friends all run 13's with there 1.8t's on STOCK Continental 195/65/50 tires, all with no LSD, with Chip/DP/Filter/Open Dumptube, and one of the cars is AUTOMATIC...
Car 1 - 13.76 @ 101.4 with a 2.13 60ft
Car 2 - 13.9 @ 101 with 2.2 60ft
Car 3- 13.98 @ 98.7 with 2.02 60ft AUTO.. this car with 50single fogger dry shot ran 13.1 @ 103.

I mean how would you like to run a GTI on street tires that ran 12.0 @ 129 MPH thats more mph then an WRX in the states will prolly see.
So please don't tell me it can't be done. perhaps you should check the videos at vwsport.com then tell me i am full of it, .

Now V6TurboTa, what are you rambling on and on about???
Notice in the line that you even quoted i said TurboTA, as in i know that is what YOU were refering to ass a piece of crap, and i said that a gti is more fun then that also, as in the reason why you like your wrx.

Also again were in ANY of my posts do i complain about the WRX have the advantage of AWD.. or Take the Turbo off and run me?? Please point these items out to me... Do you have fun making stuff up and rambling about false facts??
Seems like you are the only one making excuses as to your insecurity about your choice in cars.

WRXGUY, you crack me up you own me.. but yet.. ya can't beat me Sounds fair enough.

Dori, you are absolutely correct and i do apologize to KapaFool... just sometimes it's very hard when reading some of the post to restrain to mature reply's....

I will admit to getting heated just like the next guy. I do however when i post try to keep it to the facts and only the facts...Thus there really can't be much left to argue since they are not opinions..

Thus everything i post i have evidence to back up.
But like i said i never insulted the wrx.. nor did i make comments about it's potential cause i am not 100% aware of that and don't want to make myself look like one of you with the vr6 comments

I never claimed that you insulted the WRX...nor would I care if you did. It all leads back to that reading comprehension thing you keep making reference to.

Also, it's very hard for someone (especially a typical WRX owner) to take your point seriously when you combine sentances like; 'So um yea the vr6 wins in that book' (refering to a modified vr6 v wrx comparo) and then go on to say 'But basically you guys are trying to make it seem as if i am trying to prove the vr6 as a better car.. '...I found (and I'm sure others do to) your original intentions to be confusing b/c of comments like those.

Lastly, if you would have just made your point w/ out the mention of any other vehicle, I'm sure people would have taken it more lightly.

I'm outie 5000. Laterz.

Well like i stated earlier when that was brought up i was merely responding to a fellow wrx'er questions...
That the modded vr6 vs modded wrx the vr6 would win..
Again simply stating facts..
1 11 sec wrx/1 11sec capable wrx in the whole nation currently
3 VR6's in new jersey go 11's..soon to be 7.. see the point .
I didn't start that i just stated the facts to go along with it.

I completely understand ItsukiVR6's point about respecting other cars and he's won some respect for just sticking through the thread so far. Obviously everybody is going to stick up for their purchase choice and most of us do. I think the majority of you have by far blown this thing way out of proportion - just my opinion though.

However, it's an apples to bananas comparison if we try to plot a WRX against a VW VR6 based GTI or whatever.

Yes maybe a 1.8T 5V motor but it fails to match up. Mod for mod the VW will fall behind in both speed and handling. The VW will still suffer from an open diff and minus 200cc's but does have the 5 valve technology and higher compression to make up for it - YOU WOULD THINK.

As others have already pointed out: Bang for the buck you CAN'T deny the WRX by far is the best value out there at this time. I'm glad everybody didn't buy a WRX though because it would take away from the current uniqueness that it possess' here in the States and Canada.

Hell, not only did we get AWD and one bad ass of a suspension, we also got a rear LSD, where the FWD VW through two wheels (or maybe just one around corners) has the open diff.

As far as interior, the WRX may not have leather and doesn't come with a sunroof but does have some sweet ass bolstered seats to keep you firmly in place (much better than the VW's seats). Sunroofs and leather aren't what this car is about as we all know. Hell, the body is so stiff through supports that there probably isn't a place for a sunroof. And one more thing, shifting gears in a Rex is far better as well than a VW's notchy gear box..

Oh well, just my .02

ItsukiVR6 - I'm thinking that these VR6 cars have parts of the interior removed?? And, as you already stated, some are on slicks!

If you are going to quote numbers we should keep this full interior, well minus say the typical jack and spare removal but nothing else - full interior.

Besides, if the WRX had an extra 2cyls how fast do you think that our already low 12 sec 4cyl cars would be?

Me, I've only got an exhaust, piggyback ecu and a modded stock turbo (at not even 15psi boost) and I'm running high 12's. I think that's why most WRX owners are so proud because the car is so capable and we know it. It doesn't take much to make these cars quick! Not much at all!

TMarcel you are correct there is some weight reduction done to these cars for sure..not gonna deny that one bit..
But i know Alfred's car is pretty well roomy can we say

But lets not getting into the what if i had 2 more cylinder discussion... thats the old honda arguement... I think this topic went just fine as is no need to open another can or worms..

And like thinks have been said, every car out there has there strong point and weak points and that is why people by different cars to accomidate there different needs..

You seem to be the one having a hard time comprehending things. Where are all the articles praising these VW's you speak of? I've only read about 5oo,ooo about the WRX... I'm not saying the VW is a POS, but if it was as good as the WRX it would be sharing the spotlight right now... But I havent really seen much of that.
All i see is the WRX being compared to cars such as the Audi S4, the Porsche boxster S, and the BMW 330xi ... Cars starting at about $15k more that the wrx... Why you ask? Because nothing in its class compares...

Your right, I sit home smoking crack and making up things... Well all but the making up part anyways

See I have had conversations like this with others like you and once they realize there in a losing battle they start throwing haymakers like that. Your doing it, you just dont realise it.

When i speak of cars I dont think of a gutted, no exaust having, slick wearing race car. I think of a car the way i comes from the factory, only faster.

And for the only one 11 second WRX and a whole 3 11 second VR6's.
Ya, your right. How long has the VR6 been on the market?
There you go swinging at the fences again, but thats ok...

And like thinks have been said, every car out there has there strong point and weak points and that is why people by different cars to accomidate there different needs..

Your right, but the WRX is much more of a well rounded car than a fwd VW. Especially here in New England. Or do you not agree with that either? If not please elaborate.

I like being able to drive in horrible weather with some sort of control. My WRX handles bad weather as well as my Jeep did... But handles better in the dry than 75% of the cars out there. Thats one of the things that makes the WRX a great car OVERALL

I'm sure theres an end in sight here somewhere....

And last but not least, You can beat all of who? And how so?

Thank you for your time,

BTW theres a T-T/A running low 9's... whoopeee so?
