Default Local turbo shops?

I think I'm about to be in need of a good turbo rebuild shop. I think the bearings are about cooked. I'm starting to periodically get flutter dump and excess heat buildup in the coolant system. It would be great if the fix cost less than a new turbo. Any recommended local shops in the lower mainland?

North west fuel injection in surrey. They rebuild turbos. Or westcoast fuel injection in richmond. I heard they are decent.

I just got a turbo rebuilt there but they are called ADP Distributors (not sure if those guys are also named under PDR). Very good guys and knowledgeable / helpful when it comes to turbo rebuilding, Specialty uses them too I think!

18940 94th Avenue, Surrey; phone # (604) 888-3726

Kinetic is their performance division and they have moved elsewhere in Langley.

I bypass Kinetic completely now and go straight to Shaun at Van Neer Developments. He rebuilt my 20g with a large wheel from a jdm delivery van and is currently building a new IC system for my STi. He's a hell of a good fabricator, and is cost effective. VND - 778 278 1116

Kinetic motorsports on Langley is pretty conveniently located. Has anyone dealt with them before?

VND Motorsports is pretty conveniently located as well. How is VND's turnaround on turbo rebuilds?

Oh, yeah see Shawn directly, that's who I used to deal with when I dealt with Kinetic. Great guy and got some great turbo's done through him.

I dealt with Kinetic for many years, mainly because of Shaun and Tommy. Nowadays they're still good guys, but there are a lot more options who may be better.

Shaun had my 20g done in a couple of days at a price that couldn't be beat.

Shaun is definitely good people. Rebuilt my VW Corrado engine and supercharger back in his Momentum Motorsports days.

What turbo do you have? I do not think you can rebuild IHI turbos. That's just what I have read, and heard.

Again, just what I have read. I am sure they CAN be but at what $$ - plus I suppose a hybrid rebuilt would not be out of the question. My bad on the absolute - soooo to revise my first stmt. - I would think they CAN be rebuilt but probably not nearly as easy (or cheaper) than a Mitsubishi type turbo which you can basically have one custom made to your liking - hotside, compressor, etc. Good luck though.

Been there a couple of times and they were very helpful. The first time I went there, one of the technicians brought me to the back of the shop to help me find an o-ring for my fuel injector and gave me a few for free.

Also been to racing greed and Kinetic.

RG, very helpful. I know some of you old timer NASIOC guys have some sort of beef with them, but they always helped me with tuning and other parts. LOL.. back in the day before I got a subie and spoke to some guys at auto-x, the nasioc guys would say something like "there is some guy on the forum that knew a guy, that knew a guy, who's cousin's, best friend's, aunt's son had some issue with RG" note the obvious exaggeration here. hehehe

Kinetic. Neutral customer service from them. Only went there because they had the proper oil return hose I needed in stock. Over priced IMO but they had the part.
