Default 2011 WRX Premium vs Limited interior

I am looking at one of these and drove a premium yesterday. There are no limiteds around so I wanted the general take on the leather seating, and interior trim.

I can't find great pictures but the limited seems to have a lighter plastic like my limited Forester XT while the Premium is darker. I was not in love with the seat material in the premium...

You'll hate the seat in the limited especially in summer.

I never sat in the premium so I only have the perspective from my limited. I like it. It feels comfortable and the heated seats work fine. I actually think it gets too warm if you turn them on high, but my girlfriend likes that setting. The leather is slightly stiffer than what I'm used to in other vehicles but my last car was a 2000 Maxima that I bought used so there was plenty of time for that leather to soften up so I'm only comparing new leather to old leather there. Anyways, in general, I'm a fan and you get HIDs with the limited as well so I say go for it. It will retain some of that extra value as resale down the road if that makes any difference as well but probably not the full $1300 difference you pay to get the limited vs the premium.

I think it comes down to personal preference here, but if you like leather in general, then yeah, go for the limited.

definitely personal preference. I really liked the quality of the base/premium cloth seats, but HIDs were a must for me so I went with the limited. I love the leather seats...I think they are of decent quality and it seems like they will wear well with care.

+1 for the limited. It's worth it just for the HIDs, if you really hate the leather I'm sure someone would swap with you.

Summer wasn't too much of an issue and the seat heaters are GF approved (what is it about girls and cold butts?)

I got it just for the HIDs. The leather is low quality but tolerable.

I kind of wish there was more of a difference interior wise regarding limited/premium for both WRX and STI models rather than just leather seats and other leather tid bits here and there. Things like soft touch dash, soft touch doors, alacantara steering wheel would make a big difference interior wise.

This. I would have bought the Limited for sure. I just HATE leather. HIDs would have been great if I were able to separate the interior. If you like leather, go for it.

Is everything else the same - the Leather and HID's the only difference? My I saw some pics that the trim was more silver than dark grey (those pics looked just like my 2010 Forester Limited) and a different looking radio. That may be 2010 however.

I think I found some good pictures and the trim looks the same. Maybe the 2010 trim was like my 2010 trim...

I had an 09 premium and now I have a 11 Limited. I prefer the leather.

I test drove the Premium Sedan and bought the Limited Sedan.

The premium was nice with the cloth but after getting my car I think the leather interior is VERY nice and I'm much happier that I went with it over the cloth. It looks amazing with the red accent stitching and feels very comfortable. Don't let people deter you. If you like leather, then you'll love the Limited interior.

The HID's are also just amazing. The ability to change how high they aim on the road is pretty neat and provides great visibility options.

If you have the money, getting the limited is well worth the $1000 difference in price.

I am slapping myself for not getting a Limited over a Premium... damn impulse buys.

HID's & fogs were totally worth it for me. Leather has been treating me nicely so far and the seat heaters work WONDERS after a long day of snowboarding....

I agree, HIDs are totally worth it. Honestly I wouldnt buy a car without HIDs. They just look 10x's better.

Been in both in the past couple of weeks... The Limited-- absolutely. HIDs alone make it worth it.

I really wanted the HIDs, so I went with the Limited. I like the cloth interior in the regular seats, but the leather actually isn't that bad in the Limited. It's way better than the leather in my '02 Camaro was.

Limited! Leather makes those seats much sexier than they actually are... HIDs are a must too

Speaking only from experience in cars I've owned:

The Limited leather seats are a step down from those in an Audi A6 I sold last summer, but they're considerably nicer than the leather seats in my wife's Chevy Impala.

I'm sure that's a shock to no one. :-)

Case closed Thank you all very much for the input. I think the 1k differential makes sense. I have the leather in the forester and like it now...

I agree, that was my logic when I bought the car, what's $1,000 more?

Interestingly enough, the leather in my limited is much softer and more comfortable than my BMW 335i was. I mainly bought the limited for the HIDs but I do enjoy the leather quite a bit and I am kinda partial to it since my last few cars have had leather. I also bought the limited because my dealer did the limited for about 600 more than the premium and since I financed @ 2.9% it came about to about 7 bucks more a month if you figure $15 a month for every $1000 financed at that rate.
