Anyone running this DP from TurboXS? If so, thoughts...

http://turboxs.com/shop/08-10-subaru...-downpipe.html

Thinking it would be a good alternative to running an Invidia with my TurboXS GT CBE on MY12 WRX. Also liking that the cat is at the end of the DP and not just after the turbo.

I think it's supposed to be better for it to be closer to the turbo so it can heat up quicker. They are supposed to operate better when up to temperature correct?

Are there any other issues with pipe diameter on the Turbo XS compared to the stock DP? The supplier is saying I might need an adapter.

Thanks

What do you think the volume/tone is going to do with this change?
The midpipe is what changes the tone/ volume of the exhaust dude.

Please please before even thinking of getting another exhaust, you HAVE to get the whole catback of nameless.

I LOVED the exhaust. Had the best sound.
The only reason i changed exhaust was bcuz i was after bigger tips . Thats why i went with turbo xs.

I wish i didnt switch exhaust in the first place.
The nameless performance under WOT had a really mean sound like a v8.

The turbo xs under wot inside the cabin has a mellow sound. But under normal driving has a good rumble.

I took my Borla exhaust off. The catless dp on the stock cbe sounds awful.

just to clarify, the nameless is ailable with 3.5" tips....which look like this on my ride

the sound is on another level. i have the 5" mufflers (w invidia catted dp and nameless resonated mp) and it is not quiet....i really can't believe what it would sound like without mufflers. of course, my video camera is broken and i don't want to do a crappy phone video...so i'm looking to borrow a camera. you will not believe the sound of this thing!

The E92 M3, on the other hand, has a catback that runs just north of $5k. My buddy at work is having a hard time justifying that, for good reason.
i custom made my wrx's exhaust cost me 900 bucks for the n1 muffler and straight 3 inch pipe, i also own a 2009 M3 e92 and custom made a x pipe and rear section using 2 magnaflow mufflers and double walled tips, looks amazing and sounds better than any of the after market 5k kits, it only cost me about 1200 for everything.

I have a 2012 WRX hatch.

So just for fun I unbolted my axle back and stuck two washers in to allow a small gap for sound to get out. Sounded great and I noticed that the stock midpipe is actually a decent diameter. There was nothing that I would call drone with this setup.

This made me think I should just get a Nameless 4" muffled axle back and call it a day. With the stock mid-pipe, I imagine there would be the same lack of drone with the 4" mufflers.

The catback that I wanted before this was the Turbo XS. Now my big question is... spend $595 for the Nameless axle back, or spend $70 more and get a full catback from TurboXS. For such a small price difference, it's hard to justify not getting the whole catback.

Nameless support America haha

But in all respects the nameless guys are great, awesome customer service. Benefit is if your tight on cash you can piece together their system

When you own a 24K+ car why go cheap on parts that effect your car? Never really understood that

Go with the nameless exhaust.
Youll like it way more than turbo xs.
Theres a reason why nameless cost more for just an axleback.

Just referring to going with one piece over the other just based on price. I worded it wrong but when you get people putting on eBay performance parts is where I really get concerned

Question: I just received my COBB Downpipe. In the future, if/when I want to upgrade my exhaust, if I buy a Catback system, am I duplicating the downpipe I already have, or will the system come with the pipe that connects TO the downpipe and exhaust?

If it's a turbo back exhaust you will be. If it's a cat back exhaust you won't. The cat is in the dp not the midpipe. It is a resonator that is in the midpipe.

Go with this imo. Nameless is good quality but sounds too raw and raspy for me. Np does have great customer service though, in the end I just want my parts and that's it. I don't hear about exhausts breaking or cracking often so I don't see how Invidia, turbo xs, etc could be considered less quality when it is built strong/well enough for its purpose.
