Is there a walk-through how to insulate your hatch? I installed dynamt where the spare tire would be, but it feels like I am going to break the connectors that hold on the metal and Styrofoam pieces. If I could insulate the whole thing I think it would really help.

I didn't take the metal pieces out (tried and gave up) when I installed a dynamat-like material (B-Quiet) during my subwoofer install, but the pins holding the styrofoam in are a pain in the ass. I pried them out with a trim tool by pressing the styrofoam down a bit. When they come loose, the f-ers fire out of there at like 300 miles an hour. One ended up 20 feet away from the car. Now when I take 'em out, I hold a rag over them to keep them from disappearing!

For what it's worth, I don't think just vibration dampener (Dynamat/B-Quiet) will make that huge a difference on its own. If you want to reduce transmitted noise (as opposed to keeping stuff from rattling) you also need some sort of closed-cell foam.

Here are a few short videos of a Borla ATAK on my '11 sedan. Invidia Catless DP. The second video won't imbed for some reason.

About a year ago, I pulled out the whole interior and lined it with HVAC insulation. That helped with road noise, but not exhaust noise.

Noticed a little bit of rasp in the rpms from my Turbo XS catback. Checked it for leaks and noticed there was a small hole covered in carbon (wiped off for pic) in one of the welds. So it's definitely leaking, I was just wondering if this small hole is capable of causing the rasp I'm hearing in the high rpms?

I have the same one. Only 15k on it, but so far so good. Good fit too.

Does TurboXS currently make a quad tip for a '13 hatch that bolts up to the stock down pipe. Everything I find either doesn't specify or says its the old version. Haven't found anything saying new version.
Thanks

I have only seen the turbo back and catback. I don't think that make one that only includes the midpipe.

It was newly installed and a very cold start... Sound got a better after broken in and definitely when it warmed up.

Tell me more! I have a high pitched "pssssst" sound at WOT above 3000 RPM, and I gave up trying to find a leak, but I only looked at the gaskets.

Did you have to take the mid pipe off to see the leak? I slid under the car earlier this week and tried to look closely at all of the welds but did not see anything.

I bet I have a leak like that though. I have never thought the sound I heard was right. No way it could be a wastegate...

Luckily mine was facing down close to the flex pipe. Called Turbo Xs. They sent a new mid pipe out no questions asked. I'll get it monday and install it next weekend. I'll keep you updated.

BTW I heard about some other XS exhaust gaskets leaking and were cured by using this.

I may take it off to look...

And for gasket leaks I already installed the GrimmSpeed adapter kit (and 2X thick gasket for the axleback>midpipe connection) and used the gasket sealant that you noted.

Just picked up a used Injen Axleback. Had to straighten it out a bit with a couple zip ties, but in the end I think it looks pretty good. Sounds real mean. Quad 4in burnt tips.

Here is a video of my 11 WRX hatch with the Nameless axleback, 4" mufflers and non-staggered single wall tips. I love it!

Just try to ignore the extremely loud cicadas in the background...
