HID conversions are nasty for everyone else, US reflectors are not shaped right, and produce a dangerous amount of glare.
http://lighting.mbz.org/tech/info/bulbs/HID/conversion/ and read about blue bulbs while your are at it http://lighting.mbz.org/tech/info/bulbs/blue/ |

OR, you could do what I did... get some decent bulbs for your headlights and replace the fogs with HID auxilary lights. Made a huge difference and then when/if you sell the Legacy you can keep the lights cause they are not car specific.

I'd recommend going for a set of Morettes. The Hella lamps in them put out an incredible amount of light, with very crisp cutoffs (so as not to blind other drivers). If you're still stuck on getting HIDs, you can add an HID kit to the Morettes -- someone here has... Jacobhorn?? White Knight? Adam has 'em at Z1. I got mine from Need for Speed. Teague's Auto has 'em as well. Get 'em. See well. Look cool. Be a member of the exclusive Club Morette. ![]() - Eric Lil' Red '98 2.5 GT Wagon - Pics |

Damn! I was hoping never to see a red 98 GT with Morettes
Now I want them That looks real nice Eric. Definitely unique. How is the fit? Are they plug and play or do you have to do some rigging? I don't know how it would look, but have you considered painting the grill to match? |

MkIV - I'm sorry.
![]() They are pretty much plug and play. You need to add a couple new power wires - they go directly to the battery. The fit is close to perfect. The outer edges (where the yellow reflector on the stock lights are) stick out slightly from the bodywork (1/16" - 1/8"). Not very badly at all. I love 'em all the same! Loved 'em even more the first time I drove at night. Amazing difference over stock! Oh. Never put any serious thought into painting the grill to match. I think it'd be red overkill. Heck, I'm thinking I probably won't paint my new badge red (crash damage, had it replaced). Same thinking on the calipers -- although the red looks great on the red JDM wagon... Monovich - Those projectors will look great once mounted! Lookin' forward to pics! - Eric Lil' Red '98 2.5 GT Wagon - Pics Last edited by Radio Flyer; 07-10-2002 at 10:58 AM. |

I got my HIDs for Midnight Moose's group buy. I paid $355 for H1 Eagleite HIDs. I put the HIDs in my Morettes and could not be happier. The HIDs are bright and look great!
I purchased my Morettes from Adam at Z1 performance. Great guy, great deal. If you are planning to put HIDs in your stock headlights, I would not do it. I strongly suggest that you skip the HIDs and buy Morettes, as they will greatly improve your car's useable light output. If you are willing to spend the $$ like me, I would say go for HIDs in your Morettes, about the best you can do. If it would help, I can dig up some pics of my Morettes w/ HIDs. JH |

you certainly do not need the HID with the Morette..the Morette lense itself does such a better job than the stock lights..nice clean lines, much better beam pattern. heck, even a set of good bulbs would do wonders in Morettes and make you wonder what you have been seeing (or missing) on the road before!
HID and Morette or HID an JDM projectors...that is a kick booty combo for sure....and though expensive, more than worth the price of admission adam Z-1 Performance www.z1auto.com FYI - our Morette order is going in late this week, so if anyone wants Legacy units (1996 and onwards only), let me know. Price is $519.99 per set, complete, as pictured on Jacob's sweet car above To order, just call |

WHat Adam said No, you don't need HIDs with the Morettes. The Hella bulbs that ship with the Morettes work great. But, HID is pretty cool... JH |

I hate when that happens. Not that I like the Morettes on the BE/BH anyway.
