Default Use the Subaru.com website

Mouse over, in sequence at the top of the browser just to the left of "Find a Dealer", "Owners" and that will bring up "Subaru Care" below it and that will bring up "Maintenance Schedules" below that. Click on "Maintenance Schedules" then select your year (2000) and then look for either the Federal or the California schedule that matches your car/location (Arizona). Here's the 30,000 Federal maintenance info for 2000 Subarus:

Inspect:
Drive belt(s) [Except camshaft]
Camshaft drive belt I
Transmission/Differential (Front & Rear) lubricants (Gear oil)
Automatic transmission fluid
Disc brake pads and discs, front and rear axle boots and axle shaft joint portions
Brake linings and drums

Replace:
Engine oil
Engine oil filter
Engine coolant
Fuel filter
Air cleaner element
Spark plugs
Brake fluid

Perform:
Inspect cooling system, hoses and connections
Inspect fuel system, hoses and connections
Inspect brake lines and check operation of parking and service brake system
Inspect clutch operation
Inspect steering and suspension
Inspect front and rear wheel bearing lubricant
Valve clearance
Inspect (every 10 years) Supplemental restraint system

My suggestion would be to pull down a copy of the schedule from the Subaru.com website and check off/date/mileage the pieces that you can do. Unless you've got the tools and the time, the only thing I'd probably leave for the dealer would be to drain, checkand refill the coolant system. There's a process to this that I'm not familiar with to ensure that no bubbles/air gets trapped in the system. You could also have them do the brake fluid replacement at the same time. That way, you save some money by doing it yourself and you get all the blocks checked off on the maintenance schedule.

Br, Dale
