Well, I know this meet has died down over the winter (still not sure why), but BWW still has .50 boneless wings on Thursdays... anyone?

...also, that Grand National is so sexy. Nice ride.

Yup and we had wings and it was glooooorrriiuuus.

Actually there was a WRB bugeye, a SWP bugeye wagon and a sweet old 50's Porsche. Something like a '55 Porsche 356. Way cool.

Ah, very cool! I wasn't sure if you meant Subaru or BWW. Where the heck is a BWW near Subaru?

Dude! The car looks incredible! I'm really impressed how great it looks. The paint and interior came together beautifully.

I need to make it over to your place and see it in person.

hmmmmm... Can those with a GD STi chime in on this...

I've noticed that my gas needle drops significantly every time I drive it. About a year ago I was getting ~19mpg and that was with some boost, getting about 140 miles to half a tank and 200 miles at 3/4 of a tank.

Today as I drove to Firebird and back home I noticed I was at 156 miles and I was at 3/4 of a tank, I filled up and my MPG average was 17.5 after I put in 8.9 gallons of fuel.
I know a stage 2 tune can decrease gas mileage but holy ****, I think I bent the fuel gauge lever in the fuel tank if it shows I got 156 miles to 3/4 of a tank.

How many miles do you (those who have 04-07 STi) get to half a tank or even 3/4 of a tank?

Did you recently do a fuel pump swap to where you might have bent or not reinstalled the pump/float correctly? If not, I know the sti cluster in my car was doing something similar to this. After about 6 months or so it kinda fixed itself. I had read that it would be any number of reasons, some being that the float not working properly and may or may not need to be replaced. However I just threw in some fuel cleaner a time or two and that seemed to work.

It's a pain in the ass. Just clock your mileage on your trip and go from there. I knew I could safely get 300 miles per tank so I just did that until it started working again.

I replaced the fuel pump a few months ago and have taken the assembly out a few times due to the gasket on there. Might have bent the float. Hopefully not since it seemed really sturdy every time I took it out.
I'll keep driving it to see how the gauge is affected. Thanks for the input Jason.

No problem man. Like I said try dropping some fuel system cleaner in there the next fill up and see if that fixes it. But when I was researching this it seemed like 60% of the people with this problem had just changed out the fuel pump and bent the float. But try the fuel cleaner first and hope for the best.

you could also find out if you bent the rod by filling up and seeing how much gas it takes, for example
if you normally fill up at 1/4 tank and it takes x gallons, then if you fill up at 1/4 tank and it takes substantially more or less, then it could be bent, in your case it sounds like you are missing 40-50 miles at 1/4 tank, so 2-2.5 gallons, so at 1/4 tank it should take x minus 2 to 2.5gallons, that is if your float is bent
