I also noticed when I checked the MAF that there is a chunk missing out of the o ring, so I'm going to try and find the o'ring at a parts store.

I also ordered turbo blankets for both cars, and heat wrap to wrap half my downpipe, as well as my headers/uppipe.

Pretty much, I'm just trying to figure out more about the car and what is happening, not to mention the AP keeps shutting off while monitoring under boost (7psi+) I've deleted all the logs/almost all the maps so I know its not a memory problem, unhooked the obdII port and its still wonky. Yesterday I was loggin' when it threw the code the first time. I tried resetting the ECU because I had forgotten to when I put that intake mod on, and the car was runnin like doodoo for about 20 minutes, then it seemed ok. Up until the code it seemed great. Now it feels like there is a boost leak, and some weird hesitation between 2.7k and 3.0k with/without the mod.

I've checked everything and it seems fine. The only thing I see that is an issue is lately the AFR's aren't very stable when cruising or at idle. They bounce around from 13-16, and are worse with the intake mod so I took it off. They are still like 13-15.6 though. Could this be from the o'ring problem? Fuel filter? It seems to run better with the mod so who knows. I just wanna know whats goin' on and hopefully not drop $380 every time I want to adjust or change something.

p.s. if anybody wants to sell me a wideband kit for under $100 lemme know
P0171 is a lean code. It could be from the O-ring. A vacuum leak will cause that code to come on. It could also be from the new intake routing.

It might have been running like "doodoo" because the way the air was flowing over the maf. Remember what Cory said about the fluid dynamics.

Any car will go lean under a deep vacuum, or deceleration. I wouldn't worry about it.

I replaced the O ' ring.

I wish I could make the intake behave the same for the fluid dynamics. What should I be logging to see if it is running the same? Maf G/S, short/long fuel trim, and AFR?

Anyways, I'll probably be puttin in spark plugs sometime in the next 2 weeks also while I've got the car apart wrapping the headers/downpipe.

Really just look at your short/long fuel trims. If they are too deep in the (+) area, your car is running lean. The full range of the short fuel trim is -25 - +25, the full range of the long fuel trim is -15 - +15.

If the car threw a check engine light after you put the extension pipe on the intake, I would say the MAF needs some scaling done to it. Unless of course the only reason the light came on was simply because of the O-ring.

I am thinking it probably needs to be scaled. I'm going to try one more setup and log, otherwise I'll switch it back and just suffer through the 180-200 degree intake temps.

If you have the software, there's no reason to suffer through anything. Just scale the MAF. If you need help, let me know. My lessons aren't free though.

I'll head out for a while I think. The wagon's battery is flat again. I'm thinking it is not long for this world and that I will be shopping for a new one soon. I'll probably rock the GC tonight instead.

Who's cars are you planning to climb under? These aren't really high cars. Unless you're a holocaust victim or built like a 12 year old girl, you'd better bring some ramps.

haha. If you haven't noticed... I am kinda built like a 12 year old girl.

I just need to look at 2 bolt holes on the lower rad support, and bumper to ground clearance vs. lower radiator support to ground clearance.
