Default 91 Legacy- 03 wrx swap

Got a few questions.
im using an na wiring/ecu setup and converting the motors electrical/sensors
so it will essentially be an na with a turbo kit.

First, will the ej22e IM fit the ej205 wrx heads.

Second, what fuel pump can i use that wont require me to hack/swap wiring.

Third, seeing as there is only one cam sensor on the wrx motor,
which is different from na cam sensors.
and not wanting to have to swap na cams in to make it work,
is there a set of cam gears for na that will bolt on?

Fourth, with it being dohc and my ecu being for sohc.
Will there be any issues or will it be able to run it?
or should i get a dohc ecu out of say, a 95 2.5gt?

i have all the sensors and stuff swapped and about ready to go
just waiting on a wrx crossmember and getting full 3" tbe with custom bellmouth dp and custom uppipe for only 180 bucks!

progress thread up in a couple weeks.

The manifolds will not swap. Timing signals are completely different making the early ECUs incompatable with the newer motors. The older cam gears and sensors do not fit the newer heads/cams so it's very hard to make the signals correct. Basically GD/GG WRX motors need GD/GG WRX ECU/wiring.

Head on over to LegacyCentral.org and start your research.

I'll start by telling you that the early Legacy wiring is 90% the same as the early '92-'96 JDM WRX. Also, those early WRX motors can be had for cheap compared to GD/GG WRX parts. Third, stock-for-stock, there is little power advantage to a 2.0 GD/GG WRX over a EJ20G WRX.

Good luck with your project! Get over to Legacy Central, it's the hangout for all the gen 1 Legacy folks.

Question

Bump

Anyone got a ej20g for sale?
Or a closed deck 2.2?

If this swap doesn't work ill be selling
It for 1000 shipped. Got 1500 into it so far
But I want boost! So my loss for not doing better
Research.
