I remember back in 2008 when Doug built a brand new 2008 STI with the first AMS 35R kit and it made more on pump gas than what forged is making with that huge 6765 and E85 in the tank.....

I think its fair to say that they kicked Forges ass 4 years before they even started this project.

Thanks for the kind words. We don't really feel like we are competing against any other shops as we don't need to prove we can build one. I think our track record of high hp suby builds since 2004 proves that.

Anyone can pull up the parts catalog and order every single part for a car and make power. But not everyone can make the same power with minimal parts. We feel this project is something everyone will benefit from as we have tested many subaru setups and will only be using what works. If we test the product and it fails to meet our standards you guys will know and it will come off the car.

Thanks,

Doug

This is another testament to what can be done with the stock airbox and tmic. Sorry for the threadjack...this car is showing amazing progress with minimal mods.

Mostly though it can be summed up that the header and uppipe have made the engine a more efficient air pump and the stock VF turbo is not able maintain the CFM required. Even still less boost doesn't mean this is a bad header. Because now we are able to run more timing on pumpgas safely because of the drop of exhaust density and egt's
Boost Plot

Doug, if I read that correctly and the new manifold is #014 as you stated, it only has less boost from about 3200 to 4500 rpm...?...

More boost and more timing makes more sense too as to why it had so much more power...you switched line color on the above graph, which I think through you off.

What's the part number for this header, I've seen two from Invidia and not sure if there is a significant difference between the two. Very impressive work on the car so far. Keep up the good work.

Sorry... just noticed they are marked incorrectly. The red run was with the header. I will fix it later tonight or tomorrow when I get to the shop.

Hey guys, how is the g300 exhaust? I just got the invidia g200 on my 07wrx with perrin gt30r(catless) and it just quite a bit louder than my greddy evo2 catback. Are the mufflers straight-thru? Also with the UP, did you guys just wrap the stock one? My last question is the dyno. That is uncorrected HP correct?

Good job by the way...I plan to follow this thread. I just ordered the 2011 OBP sti sedan 2 weeks ago and I dont think im going right into the rotated gt30 again anytime soon. I have to sell my WRX first .....Subscribed

The Greddy Evo2's resonator is soooo restrictive. Literally it goes from 3" exhaust to 2" through the resonator. Quite a few people cut the resonator out though. The Invidia isn't near that bad, hense being louder

The G300 sounds great, its not that loug considering how unrestrictive it is. The Upipe is the Invidia uppipe as well and we wrapped it I'm just not sure we took any pictures of it. I have the charts in an uncorrected format but we usually post the results in a SAE corrected format to keep everything the same.

Just let us know if we can help in any way on either car. One of our GTX30R kits would be amazing on your 2011.

Just curious, but what would this setup likely do with an E85 tune? (I'm in the Midwest and have a readily available supply of it.)

Should make even more power with E85. Stay tuned that test is coming up in the next few weeks.

Matt

P.S. We love E85

I've been hitting F5 on my browser window every 10-15 seconds waiting for updates.

I love E85 too. I want to make 350-400WHP as SAFELY as possible without sacrificing daily drive-ability. I would rather spend more money doing it safely and right the first time than pushing the envelope to the absolute edge.

I don't work for NASA, and I don't want to send one or more of my pistons into orbit.

My 2011 is on order, looks like a trip to Georgia will be in my future.
