Default 98 LGT Automatic to Manual conversion

I was thinking of doing this has anyone done this and what parts are needed?

yeah i did this to my car. gear box, diff, drive shafts, tailshaft, pedal box, slave and master cylinder, shifter and manual centre console pieces.

What year donor car did you get? Did you have to get the ECU for the manual transmission car?

If it's like the earlier OBDI cars, the ECU is identical but there's a ground wire that needs cutting.

You don't need the differential if you can find a 5MT that matches the ratio of yours.

i used an MY01 wrx for the donor parts. i was running a full haltech aftermarket engine management system already but i think generally the auto/manual ecu is the same. the tcu is a separate unit.

North American cars are a bit different from those available in Australia, however. We didn't even have an 01 WRX.
