Question Turbo GT - 2003 or 2004?

Curious what the current consensus is here on the Legacy forum as to when we'll see a turbo Legacy model in the US. 2003 as a 2004 model? 2004 as a 2005 model? Yes, I know nobody knows for sure, but I'm interested in what seems to be the most prevalent rumor.

Thanks.

Im not holding my breath. It would be far better just to stick a wrx engine in any random legacy right now. Full wrx engines can be had for 4-5k and with less than 100 hours of work at the right shop have a "Factory" turbo legacy.

Did you see the pictures of the outback sport conversion? I saw this car up close and with the hood closed you CANNOT tell the difference. The only change to the outside is his hood scoop is functional now.

What year OBS, and do you have a link? Has anyone actually done a WRX engine into Legacy conversion?

That's the plan, anyway. It is subject to change, of course, depending on all sorts of factors. Just like everything else with Subaru... I'll believe it when I see it.

Everything I have heard from reliable sources points to 2004.

Edit: I dont follow these things very closely so I know there is many more. The last installfest I was at had FOUR WRX ENGINE SWAPPED cars! 9 cars total. This one just happens to be close to me and Ive seen it personally so I followed his threads.

Thumbs up 2004 model

I read it will be out as a 2004 model. Here is the thread with a drawing of the re-designed Legacy.
