May I suggest an 8th rule?

this will require self control.

I don't quite understand why you have to make up a bunch of rules because this site is full of tools that can only say how they feel when they are not face to face with the person they are talking to. Granted your post is very informative, but lets face it this site is FULL of trolls. Many of them that would not even stand up for themselves if you spit in their face. I myself do not even bother posting on this site very often at all because of the useless garbage that spews from the keyboards of these people. If I had enough time as some of the jokers to sit around and criticize complete strangers about absolutely nothing that concerns me...i would take a long walk off of a very short pier. Life is short bro...live it.

My point here i guess is that while these trolls just go from thread to thread passing judgement and being a complete waste of bandwidth, harmless noobs come to this VERY informative site looking for exactly that. So you feel the need to make rules for them?

How about ONE single rule...just don't post if what you are about to say is not in some way informative to the OP regarding his/her topic.

grammar/spelling...who cares?

searching...yeah it helps, when you have time. It's also a lot easier to start a thread and receive email notifications for answers to questions one might have.

I guess to me this thread is trying to put a band-aid on a bullet wound. You should likely be addressing the real problem at hand here...trolls.

Won't work. There are too many ways to define "informative." If it were really as simple as that, don't you think that rule would already exist?

Anyone who doesn't want to be perceived as a moron.

Making a smartly-worded and grammatically correct thread goes a LONG way towards getting quality responses.

Garbage threads beget garbage replies.

And now we're getting down to it.

NOTHING is faster / more effective for getting your question answered than SEARCHING.

Why do people think searching doesn't work? Usually, it's because they DON'T SEARCH CORRECTLY.

Asking to be spoon-fed an answer just makes you look lazy and ignorant, clutters the forum and is slower than running a search.

The bottom line is this: if you don't want trolls in your threads, don't put out troll bait.

O_O' I see no administrator of education daddyphatsax304- yet just now you have surely been given a quite thorough education.
*high fives spenk*
-Seriously though daddyphat, if you dislike the people on here enough to say most of them are tools, why bother frustrating yourself by keeping an account? If you do actually like it on here, you might have a better time and attract fewer trolls if you didn't make people want to shove a spork up your vagina. Hell, I HATE trolls and you make ME want to troll you(or shove a spork up your vag, whichever will upset you the most.). >.< *twitch* I too must learn to play nice with others- and not eat the crayons under the desk, even if they look nice. ^.~

The OP(that means original poster right?) is highly amusing, I would hug you if I could. But since I can't- thank you for the information and the lulz, I'm usually more of a cracked/btard/lurker and did a lot of RP's but these days I'm so busy with school and cars and cars at school that I've devolved from 1337 to n00b status and am completely lost. I accept my fate and go forth to learn the ways of this new forum, a forum of golden opportunity where I may yet regain the best of both worlds! T.T*noobfails all over herself*

It is s simple as that on many forums, where someone will just pop up link for the challenged.

You don't think that multiple pages of smarmy comebacks don't clutter up the site ?

I was brave and ready to jump right in...now, not so much! At least I'm a real live girl and may be excused for a lot of my ignorance. I better have some coffee before I try to face these guys.

Not knowing much about cars isn't the problem. It's not knowing about cars and coming off like an immature teenage moron that angers people. Just use the search function, don't type like you're texting, be respectful and you'll be fine.

And don't be a bro. Bro.
