If you file your taxes this way, does common income include W-2's and mortage information? It says that you both have to itemize if one does but how can you BOTH claim mortgage deductions? We always do our taxes online but it gives me lots more money this way and I know it isn't right. We may have to break down and take them in this year.

You split the deductions for things you both own(50/50 or as per ownership %), my wife and i did this before we got married.
