Default 2 resonators?

This thought just creeped into my head and I'm not sure if it has any sort of technical merit to it, but if our cars were given a resonator to help eliminate a raspy honda-esque sound from the exhaust. What would adding a second resonator do?

I find myself in possession of both a 2.5i and wrx catback and it all of a sudden hit me. would there even be enough room to fit the second resonator, if so, what might it sound like. Low, rubmbly, quiet, or possibly just ridiculous.
Thoughts?

(side thought, how do magnaflow mufflers sound, might get a pair some time)

the more resonators the quieter, really. They are basically just small mufflers. some say you can use a specific size to cancel a specific frequency but i don't know if that is true in the real world when physics apply. A resonator, or especially a second resonator certainly wont make it louder. I currently have a large magnaflow resonator I am hoping to install if I can find a place to fit it.

I have 2 resonators in my exhaust, it helps deepen the sound and quite it down some, though lately I was told how loud my car was even though it's quite in the cabin

My current setup is UEL's, trackpipe, custom double resonatoed STI centerpipe and 04 wrx axleback, for the time being.

The STI centerpipe worked out well cause the oem resonator is quite small, thus, leaving more than enough room for a second resonator.

I don't have cats, so 2 resonators in my mind is a must if you plan on having any after market catback or axleback.

I was catless for a little while and just adding a cat quieted it down a lot even with EL headers and a Cobb cat back and it comes with a 18" resonator. I bet it will just make it quieter, i can't imagine it would cancel out on certain frequencies unless it was a different diameter that the rest of the exhaust.

Holy raspy batman, however i am assuming that's just the camera and not the exhaust. Aside from the camera it still sounded a little raspy when you really got on it. is it actually like that. i don't want to spend multiple hundreds of dollars on something that i'm not crazy over.

However, i do like that nice low sound at about 0:40 if that sticks around ill likely get some, but if its closer to the drive by at 1:03 i don't see these in my future

Well these aren't in your future with a stock exhaust manifold all aftermarkets setups are going to sound like this. I had the same CBE on my 08 2.5i before I got the header and man it embarrassing LOL The drive to the shop to my my headers fabbed up i felt much like a Civic owner

To chop out the rasp you will need a good resonator(s)

Either I dont hear it anymore or it changed a little, that was pretty much the day after I installed it. Do exhausts have a "break in" period? I can do another video when i get back

Eventhough it might not be factually true, I believe exhausts do have a break in period as all the new exhausts I have purchased over the years got deeper and louder over the course of months after installation.

I def feel this is true with stromung and products that have glass pack in the muffler.

You should definitely PM me when you get that video up

In browsing around the magnaflow site i was looking at all the different styles of mufflers they have there. Is there a huge difference in sound between say the small or large or oval or round. Im a little lost in all the options of mufflers or more to bolt up to my new WRX catback before its mounted

one thing i noticed that might make a difference, I dunno if my donut gasket is too big or what, but for some reason it doesnt seem like it gets a good seal where it hooks up to the headers, someone says it comes with an adapter plate but magnaflow said they didnt know anything about that
