CN:
Greyhound passengers stranded in Denver

Quote:
DENVER -- They're far from a monster storm terrorizing the Midwest, the east, and even the south. Yet, they have become victims of it in Denver.
Greyhound Bus Service says 110 people got stranded at its downtown Denver terminal, and many of them have been there since Monday.
"Being here kinda sucks. We spent the last night here," says Diana Tyson of Aurora, who is traveling with her 14-month-old son to Orlando, Florida to visit her mother.
Greyhound cancelled half its schedule since Monday because of dangerous driving conditions, but it got every route back in service by Wednesday night--except for busses to Chicago and Albuquerque.
"The state closed the roads," says Conrad Cook, who was on his way to St. Louis, Missouri, when he got detoured for the past two nights to the bus station floor.
"That's my only complaint--leaving the door open. When people are going in and out of this door here you can see your breath at night," he says.
"The most you sleep is three to four hours. Everybody is walking around. You don't really trust anybody," says Luis, who didn't want to give his last name.
He's also been here since Monday, and he'll spend another night here too.
The road through Albuquerque to his home in El Paso is still closed.
At least he might be more comfortable, now that the Red Cross is setting up 30 to 40 cots at the terminal. The Red Cross also handed out teddy bears.
"If you are a single mom and your kid has to spend the night sleeping on the floor, you just need something to make it worthwhile," says Red Cross spokesperson Jim Rettew.
A Good Samaritan took care of the stranded passengers' stomachs with free bagels and coffee.
"I feel horrible for these people. They're in a situation they don't have much control of," says Bettie Jo Tucker.
Greyhound says it did provide $30 hotel vouchers for passengers-- which 44 passengers accepted.
Greyhound also had warm busses running in the parking lot so people could sleep in the seats. They also fed passengers three meals a day from their food service inside the terminal.
The stranded passengers are expected to be able to leave by Thursday.

Most of us on here are from the Salt Lake City area. The Denver Nuggets are a minority here.

Maybe you should learn how FEMA works and what it is for. There was no diasater in denver.
So when people are stranded in the airports fema should bus them all to hotels and pay for it.Read the whole article they were given a voucher for a hotel or buses to sleep on that were warm.

I didn't know he hated black people.

Aww, it looks like your sarcast-o-meter is broken.

FEMA is a useless agency, and it's a waste of tax money. It takes forever for them to mobilize to get anything done. If you want disaster relief, talk to your local community about CERT.

Just one of the useless government agencies that doesn't know how to accomplish anything right, USAID being another. I work with them all the time and they would phuk up a one car funeral per-session.
