Thanks
With the hatch, not a chance...here's almost exactly what yours would sound like with our hatch axleback - it has a free flow muffler on it:

TASTY! So here is my question. Being an axle back and all, is it safe to put this on under warranty? Is there enough extra flow in design to get a new tune on it? Going from stock straight off the delivery truck. I know there is break in time (1k miles-ish) but I know that a tune and an axle back could be asking for problems if anything happened. What you think?

this will not effect your warranty. maybe for your mufflers lol. I would say its not worth it to get a dyne tune after adding just this part. You can put this on at the dealers right off the truck and will have no warranty problems. Its not effecting anything

Mufflers are not mandated by federal emissions, but as far as noise abatement, that's another story. Your exhaust warranty should remain in effect.

There are plenty great reasons that this product is to be purchased and when someone says "why spend $300 on noise "and the best answer is " cause they are mad tyte yo and sound under sweet" its kinda defeating the purpose behind the engineering. Thats all I was doing and jason and i think one other person say where i was going with it.
But they ARE mad tyte yo AND they do sound uber sweet.

Seriously though, when making my decision between the STi and the EVO, one of the decision points was definitely that boxer rumble. So look and sound are certainly valid consumer considerations, otherwise I probably would have went with the EVO.

Indeed. I just had another perspective customer who asked this of his dealership and they told him as long as he doesn't modify the parts with the O2 sensors installed (ie Downpipe), they've got no concerns with regard to warranty.

As for needing a tune, it's not at all necessary. But that's not to say that a Stage 1 tune won't benefit you, it will and we recommend it. If you're in the market for an Accessport, just ask me when you call and I can get one of those for you too.

Talk to you all soon.

Ah yes, I'll dig up your email and ping you. I had some slight misunderstanding about the SPT design when we were initially discussing this and now that I've seen one in person I've got a better idea of what you were looking for.

Are you taking orders for 5 door axlebacks? Any official info about it like options (tips, cutout, etc)?

Yeah I am curious about the cutout too. Is it gonna be manual our maybe a qtp (?) Electric variable? Price point. I need to talk to my tuner. He does open. Wonder if that'llhurt that warranty? Oh and ewg? Go for broke eh? Lol

Yeah something like one of the QTP units most likely. I would like to develop our own controller for the system, but to start with we'll just use an off the shelf unit.

I doubt seriously that the change from a straight through 3" in, dual 2.5" out muffler to a straight 3" pipe is going to impact things enough to require any change in tune. I mean, if we were talking about a 3" dump off the factory downpipe instead of a full factory exhaust, I could see there being some drastic change, but really this is a change to simply bypass the rear muffler - and it will be variable, probably in 10% increments of bypass.

And the cutout right prior to the rear muffler should not effect the warranty any more than swapping out a set of muffler delete pipes on a sedan. The dealers I've talked to have indicated anything cat back is fair game.

If you want to call me I can take a pre-order. 360.263.5001. That would be the best way to make sure you get one of the first sets. If I don't answer, just leave a message. Will probably be the same tips we have on the sedan design....I don't think any of the designs are going to have clearance issues though. And we are still working on some staggered and straight, slash cut and straight cut, single wall designs right now that will apply to both the hatch and sedan systems.

Cutouts will be configured a few ways:
No cutout provisions at all.
Cutout Dump provision w/ Flange & Cap.
Cutout Dump provision w/ Flange, e-cutout assembly, dump pipe (probably also configurable)

Doing an update on my Nameless Performance axleback for my 2011 WRX sedan.

I've had this exhaust for about 3 weeks and so far I really like it. When I first put it on I thought it was going to be a little too loud. First 2 days I wasn't really digging the sound but 3 weeks later I love it. I really think the sound changed over time. (or maybe I'm imagining things) The exhaust seemed to drone a little bit cruising at 80mph but now I don't notice it anymore. People say exhausts get louder over time but I swear mine quieted down. I know a few people have said that this an exhaust on the louder side but I don't really think it's that loud. I've listened to loud exhauts before (as well as many angry bee honda civic fart canons) and this axleback isn't loud enough to get cop attention (unless you live in a really strict area) I've driven by at least 10 cops so far and didn't have any trouble. A cop even drove behind me for at least 10 mins in stop and go traffic and I thought I was gonna get pulled over for my exhaust but I guess he didn't mind.

Pretty much if you are looking for a great sounding (DEEEEEP!) exhaust and don't have $900+ to spend, you can't go wrong w/ this one. I have a few buddies w/ catbacks on their WRX's and none of them sound as good my axleback.

Jason is referring to my car. First let me state that Jason, John and Guy are great guys to hangout with. They are also very passionate about everything they do. The quality of their work is top notch. I've learned a ****ton from them.

I have their 2008+ Hatch prototype on my car right now. This thing sounds great. I've had a chance to drive the car on the freeway, twisty back roads and in town. First off this thing doesn't drone. And when you are cruising the exhaust note is just right. One of the things I like is when you get on it the sound inside the car is there but on the quiet side. I can actually hear my rev/shift beep thingy. I can't hear it when my Perrin is installed.

Another thing I've noticed is the flow coming out of the tips is even on the passenger and driver sides. The flow is also even coming out of the tips. My Perrin poops out most of the flow on the outside tips. I can tell this buy the way the carbon is built up on the tips.

Having this kind of access to the principals in a company like this is has been a pleasure. For the record, I don't work for these guys nor do I have any interest/ownership in their company. I'm just an ******* that has tried several catbacks trying to find the right sound. Really looking forward to seeing/installing the down and mid pipes.

Don't worry Jason I won't let the cats out of the bag

There are a couple manufacturers that use 4"s. Mad dad and blitz, off the top of my head.
They look so aggresive!
