Talking July 21st Autocross! In Boone, NC! :)

Ok, don't start throwing rotten tomatoes yet!

CCR-SCCA will be holding it's autocross, points event #5 in Boone, NC on July 21. Our website (www.ccrsolo2.org) will be updated tomorrow. Please check the site for directions, schedule and online registration. Please make every effort to make it to this event! I would like to have a good showing for what I hope will be the first (although it's been done here long ago) of many events in this area! I would like to have at least 1 or 2 events here each year, hopefully during the hotter parts of the summer.

Thanks!

Steven

Is it going to be held in the state farm lot like the old-school ones?

It will indeed! Do you remember when they used to autocross there? You must be old!

The only autocross type thing I ever remember seeing in Boone was when the MG club used to do events in the lot behind the Holiday Inn. They were laying down the smoke screen! lol....

I think I remember seeing one many years ago. I wasn't up on the autocross scene, and I remember thinking how silly it was that someone was racing a vw rabbit (the only car I remember).

However, I have taken a sharp blow to the head since then, and my past is somewhat fuzzy

Rebellion: weak! I drive that far to put on every event!

V V: You're probably talking about Geoff Zimmer's rabbit. He's still running one! And it's fast! But the luxo-barge will take it down eventually!

ACK, that just ruined it.

Cover your VINs people, they'll void your warranties for racing

hehe, j/k, but some GM dealerships are doing that in the northeast....

Now what would make you think we would "start" anything? Just because you are having them sponsor it and they don't even have a car they run, much less 2, or a hot rod parts divisoin? Why would we start? j/k couldn't leave it alone!

If it's like last year, the Hahns will drive up here with their Neon and kick both our asses at Bele Chere...

Hey Steven, do you know if Frankie is going to make it to the Boone event? He beat me quite soundly at Eastland and the ProSolo and I'm itching for some payback!

Shane: Frankie won't be there, he's going to CA for business and then for a 240sx meeting. He's driving there for it! And I thought I was looney! lol....

Bill: Gunning for me? Who? How about I keep considering my move back to STS with the Legacy! (Yes, becasuse of many cost issues, I'm thinking of going back to STS. Mainly depends on if they boot awd from sts or not, and what mods they add to the allowed list) If so, watch out STS!

Hey Steven,

Is this going to be a Subaru Challenge event like last year with a Subaru team, and an Everything else team? If so, I may try to get up there, it all depends on if I can get my wheel wells out and my fenders rolled so that I can...oops. almost let the cat out of the bag.

Or you could jump to STX and show the WRXes how it's done!

I hope they decide the AWD/STS issue soon so I can start planning out my mods for next season. (DSP is looking pretty tempting! )
