JDM Version 7 & Version 8 ECU question

Hi,

I have a 02 wrx with the stock 16 bit ECU and im putting in an 05 STi long block with AVCS and a 04 STi transmission. My question to you all is what ECU do I need to purchase to make my avcs work? I don't want to deal with taking out and replacing my entire engine wiring harness and i heard that if u get the right ECU u can run AVCS without doing that whole swap...is this true? Please chime in with info.

you need the matching 05 STi ecu for the 05STi long block. Dont mix usdm with jdm

so even if i got the JDM v7 or v8 ecu I would be messing with something else?

the avcs solenoids are different between the markets, you'd be chasing your tail if there are other unexplainable issues to troubleshoot.
