Thumbs down Morette's from Vivid Racing

You HAVE to have the fog lights on to see anything...
worst part is, I had to cut the factory harness to install them...
At least they look cool...

Perhaps you should try adjusting them...They don't exactly come pre-adjusted.

Hmm, I thought everyone was selling these now with the plug-in harnesses-
And adjustment is very critical because of the highly focused/cutoff beam pattern. If you don't take the proper time and care adjusting them they won't work like they are supposed to. There are several threads in Dress-Up about this, also there are many web sites that discuss proper aiming of e-code lights.

Sounds like
1) You should read up on aiming headlights properly.
2) You should have spent the extra scratch for the plug and play harnesses.
3) You should have done more research into the Morette upgrade before you took the plunge. Aint hindsight a beeeyotch?

I have the non-hid option and they are much brighter than my OEM peepers. I can't stand to drive my brother's 2.5 RS at night now.

Thats funny, i just got my lights from vivd last week. They came with plug and play which was nice, although some of the wires were wrong so i had to redo some wireing, no big deal once i found the problem. The other nice suprise was that the lights were aimed almost spot on. I have yet to adjust the lights because they work great the way they are. Sorry to hear everyone else wasnt so lucky.

Was it two wires reversed in the plug-and-play harness? I had this problem too with mine and I know of at least one other person who did too. Seems a bunch of them got out with this mistake. Not a big deal for those of us who can figure it out but for those who can't it means a ruined install.

I bought mine from Adam @ Z1 Performance 8 months ago. I got them with no harness and with the little wiring knowledge that I have I hooked them up and I have never had any problems with them. As far as how good they work, they are WAY brighter than my oem lights. They look good and they are functional. If you haven't seen them yet, you may want to check out the tail lights that Morette is making for the WRX. I'm not quite sure what to think of them.

I payed $420 shipped from Adam at Z1 Performance. IIRC they now have the harness included which is reflected in the price increase. Great service and a great price, why go anywhere else?

The Morettes are great! The only negative is that the sheet metal behing them (made to fit the OEM lights) blocks easy access to the light adjustment screws. It took many (about 9 tries) removal and re-installation of the lights during the adjustment process. If you can get through that, the sharp upper cut-off of the low beams allow a real improvement to the OEM lights. They don't blind oncoming cars. If you need them to be brighter, there are upgrade H1 and H7 bulbs available. As a note, the new MRT grill is designed to blend in with the Morettes very nicely and finishes off the look.
