Been there, felt that. And I take winter motoring very seriously because of it.

Chances are, that blizzard hit here a few hours before it hit you.

I have had my 25 minute commute take well more than an hour and a half, without being stuck, just because I was going that slow in those conditions, with AWD on snow tires.

I am well aware that they aren't a license to be careless, but they can get you home when you shouldn't be out in the first place, but sometimes storms come up in the middle of the day, before the return commute.

I wish I could tell you just how much fun it is to drive, but a manufacturer's embargo on driving impressions prevents me from sharing those details. Suffice to say, after a day driving the new Impreza on some wonderfully winding roads in lower Vancouver Island, it's safe to anticipate the standards of performance and handling dynamics that endear current Subarus to enthusiasts will continue.

I totally agree Gary. I am a Subaru faithful. I am on my 3rd one and I am loyal to a fault. The problem I am having is that I want something better on gas, and I want to go back to driving a manual. The Hyundais are really churning out competetive vehicles with great gas mileage, but they aren't Subarus. Once I finally get to test the new Impreza, and if it is everything I hope it can be, I am going to trade in my 09 Legacy. I just hope that I can get some bells and whistles with a manual transmission.

Look at the 5th line in the 4dr and 5dr section. Should be pretty nice unless you wanted NAVI.

I just noticed that. I wish I could get Nav....but it seems like most car companies don't pair Nav with manuals. What a shame. I was also hoping for blk interior on a SWP....but beggars cant be choosers right.

Its not so much of the fact that the WRX can't take advantage of it (The WRX not being apart of it will probably make it a better car actually) but the fact that the Impreza wont have any rally connections anymore. I know it may sound stupid (although it shouldn't because it's the premise behind a "halo" car) but without the relation to the WRX the Impreza just seems less appealing. I got the 07 2.5i not a WRX but it still excited me seeing the WRX going through rally cross because they were related. Now that there's nothing in common with them it feels like if I get the 2012 that I will just be getting a Sedan with awd instead of a awd sedan lol..

Don't take this too serious and get defensive because I know some people will, it's just how I feel thats all.

My significant other would like something a little smaller than her '07 Accord, and likes a lot of what I see here with the new Impreza. But she must have heated seats, and likes leather. Is that an option here? I am afraid not, if I read Gary's chart correctly.

Maybe leather automatically = heated seats? It wouldn't make much sense to only have seat heaters available on the cloth seats.

The heated seats might be an option or come with a package. Like the all weather package on my 2.5i has heated seats. and the seats are also cloth. it takes a bit to notice the difference.

The All Weather Package has seat heaters. That package is standard on Limited models (which come with leather), and available as an option on most of the rest of the lineup.
