No, it doesn't make sense. I picked up a pair of Blizzards 2 weeks before I ordered the car so I took the accessories.

I will most likely switch to a bike and give it to my wife. The selections there at least make sense. I will then look for a pair of skis for myself and pay out of pocket. Too bad.

1. Get a Limited or a Sport Limited.
2. Get something else.
3. Put on a leather wrap yourself.
4. Complain and see if Subaru will change it next model year.

I chose #3.

I would GLADLY pay for a Sport Limited, IF it was offered with a manual. Wheelskins are an option I have used many times in the distant past; but a good factory leather wheel is much nicer, and I don't have to spend hours trying to do a good Wheelskin install.

If the car has a great user interface, the thing I touch the whole time during a test drive, I'm going to be that much more likely to make the purchase.

I was also thinking this might be the first car I would consider with a factory nav unit, because of its less abhorrent price compared to the industry norm. Nope, not available with a manual. Lame.

There is a 5th option I forgot to mention. Get a Premium plus one of the option packages.

I am surprised how poorly equipped Impreza is - you have to pay extra for luggage compartment cover (even on ltd) and auxiliary audio jack

Let me know if I'm wrong.

Yes, you're wrong. I do see them on the list of optional accessories, but there are already a luggage compartment cover and an integrated audio jack (maybe not on the base model).

Do you know if 5 door premium comes with audio jack and luggage compartment cover - it is listed as accessories?

If you are looking at the "build" feature on Subaru's website there are lots of errors, for example you can get the optional fog lights on your Sport model, except the Sport model comes with Fog lights preinstalled.

I think the limited, premium and sport all have luggage covers that are retractible. There may be a solid panel that is optional.

https://www.subaru.com/content/downl...s/2012_IMP.pdf
Look under Audio and Communication Systems.
There is no mention of a cargo cover, but if you go here, http://www.cars101.com/subaru/impreza/impreza2012.html a cargo cover is standard on the Premium; though this site is not Subaru's.

This info must be wrong. I looked here https://www.subaru.com/content/downl...s/2012_IMP.pdf

and under audio and communication systems, 3.5 mm auxiliary jack is not even optional on base and premium models. According to the brochure it is standard on ltd only.

I think the site is incorrectly applying the CVT as an option, which is already standard, to the Sport Limited. That's the model I'm eyeballing too.

The build site is evidently still beta...

If so, cool. I have been assuming 5 weeks, not 3... but I guess it depends how long a journey to New England will take.

Anyone know how long it takes the boat to go port-to-port? I am assuming it goes Japan to Vancouver and then takes a truck to the east coast?
Regarding which port, the dealer didn't specify or I don't remember. I remember he said it should be there, at his dealership, in three, maybe four weeks.

Anyone in the midwest, ideally KS/MO/OK/IA/NE region hear anything about delivery date or a VIN? It has been ~90 days since I ordered and still no word. Boo!!

Not quite midwest, but I ordered my 5-door Limited here in Colorado around mid-September. Got the email with VIN and delivery date a week or so ago. December 6th.

Subaru does have an East Coast port of entry. IIRC, it's in Rhode Island.

Yes. No firm date, just the generic Dec 18th that others have heard. Just would have thought I would have a VIN by now.

I'm in Indiana and I think I was the first to post upon receipt of the email. I believe mine is suppose to be delivered by Dec 3. The Dealer told me 11/28 and Subaru said 12/3. I think they are giving themselves a little room and time for prep.

The Subaru build site always has errors. (Had issues with which WRX a SPT exhaust kit could fit on, etc).

Premium and Limited models have a USB and aux jack in the center console

Accessory pics here:

Totally jealous that you can now get the seat covers here:

Cars101.com has some good build info here:

I asked my dealer about the rear seat back protectors and he said it wasn't an available option for my 5dr limited. He said it was greyed out so he couldn't select it. Hopefully I can buy them later and install myself.
