that and what the dealers get charged by the distributors. remember there is a middle man in nj. it isn't subaru of america that provided that car directly.

Yeah, that is the best time to check it and when I noticed it. Out here, there was some rain on the ground and likely elevated levels of moisture too if that affects things.

Test drove one last night, I was pretty disappointed with the dealer that said they had several 5 door manuals in stock, I got there they had only had one and it was not available to be driven because apparently there is a master cylinder part recall they had not done yet.

Test drove a base model sedan in heavy rush hour traffic, would definitely need a short shifter, the throws felt a mile long. Hard to get a good feel of how peppy it was when I never got out of traffic for more then 100 yards. Curious about a 5 doors ergonomics, may go to another dealer this weekend to investigate further.

Is there any after market for this engine yet? Will the Accesspoint work for them? As I understand it this engine came out last year in the Forester and in that application it has more torque...

He told me that even though the "recommended" pressure was lower, if he didn't set it a bit higher than that, the pressure sensor warning system would likely trigger. Anyone else every hear about that? This is the first car I've owned with the tire pressure sensor system. I was wondering if it might be due to living in Colorado, at an altitude of over a mile high?

I was going to go in today to a local tire store to swap out the tires for some Conti DWSs, and wanted to know what to tell them to inflate the tires to! We're currently in the middle of a snowstorm!

My tire pressures were high too. I called them out on it, and i brought my own digital tire gauge. They were at 36.5 psi, and I had them adjust it to 32 front, 30 in back. The manager apologized and did it in his suit, I thought that was showing good solidarity. Ask them for the PDI checklist (Pre-delivery inspection). One of the boxes lists "tires are properly inflated" and I called them out on it because the box was checked.

Default temporary tags

I purchased a car in northern nj, but the car is registered in nyc. I was only given a 20 temp tag from the dealership. What is the time frame for receiving my actual tags? It's getting close to the expiration date.

Can the dealership extend the temp tag?

When I bought my 06 Baja, I had one headlights that keep getting condensation in it right away. We decided to bake it, take the orange part out and re-seal it up really good (did both headlights of course) well, the one headlight was fine, but one keep taking on water. It keep getting worse and we couldn't warranty it because they had been baked and cleared at that point, so after continually buring out headlight bulbs, I ordered a new/used oem headlight on ebay and perfect, no condensation.

Cliff notes: if your car is under warranty, don't try to fix it yourself, if it gets worse, you will keep burning out headlight bulbs!

Is there an advantage to lease and then buy the car at the end of the lease? $299x42 months plus +$14k and change seems like more than the $21,595 MSRP plus a 1.9% loan. I guess with the lease you pay less per month but the buy out is large.

lease - you are paying for the portion of the car you use usually around 1/2 the msrp) and therefor only taxed on that amount (not the purchase $)

-much lower monthly payments
-much lower initial down payment (thousands)
-this impreza carries a fairly high residual (lowers your monthly)

also, Lease Money Factor VS. Finance rate can be a big difference

i priced a few leases on a '12 Honda Civic EXL and the TOTAL payments were within $1K

my other option: financing @1.49% 48 months, 4K down = $386/month

I got you. Just seems like if you do the finance until it is paid off vs lease for 42 months plus payoff of $14k with the long term goal of owning that you might as well just finance it from the beginning. Sure you put more upfront with the finance but in the long run you save money (unless this is a car for work and you can write off the monthly lease).

This car is such a huge upgrade from my 2008 2.5i base model Impreza sedan. For those complaining about the speakers, they sound great to me compared to my previous Impreza. Very impressed with everything so far. The 2 tone black/dark gray on the sport model really looks sharp with the dark alloys.

Can you post some photos, would love to see the 2 tone black/dark gray on the dark alloys.
Thanks

Anyone else have this soft touch dash before? What would you recommend for cleaning it?

Tiny detail some of you may have already known but I just figured out. The cup holders are two different depths. The front one is slightly deeper. Glad to have discovered this because my wide lid frappucino cups wouldn't quite fit there but the shorter depth back cup holder is perfect. Just an FYI.

It can't be that bad dude. Look at the ISM Sport Limited and imagine it in White. It looks VERY nice. I wanted to get it in white but don't like the tan interior.

So I spoke with my dealer today, he's supposed to email me the 2 cars that are to be coming in this week that's similar to my order. I let him know that I'm exhausted and disappointed with this situation. Had I've been informed of what was going on and not have myself call SOA several times to get the information I'd be more calm and patient; to hear the car is in Boston and waiting to be shipped and then dropping the bomb that it won't be here until 1/20 and then have it's MC replaced made me furious. Now I'm shopping around for other cars. Hyundai Sonata 2.0T looks promising, especially because I'm getting a white/black with better technology package.

I still have faith and really want this Subaru, but I'm very close to cutting off the wick on getting one at this time...

this is really strange- ordered on 10/31, sport premium BL2; last week i called SOA and they told me delivery on 1/20. But just got a call from the dealership to let me know that the car is ready for pickup. Great! Except I just spent $600 registering and repairing a family member's car that I planned on driving for the next month.

Awesome/lame! haha Sorry to hear that. Talk about under-promising. $600 for a working car isn't bad, though. I say keep it as your beater, keep the miles and maintenance low on your new beauty.

It's initial down. I wanted monthly to be as low as possible so I got a base. I'm kinda wishing I had order a standard premium right now. I also got the $495 gold warranty plan.

Total was $240 a month + $90 car insurance. Pretty good monthly for a car.

We had a foot of snow last night. The Yokohamas were not doing too well, so I took the car (delivered yesterday) to a local tire store chain and had them swapped for Conti DWSs. While not as good a dedicated snow tires, I do believe the snow traction/driveability is now better with the DWSs.
