Could you bring a little video camera with you when you drive the car? This would at least allow you to record and visually show the dealer the problems you are experiencing.

People with NAV units....anyone have the problem where the equalizer settings you use are non existent when the NAV needs to give you an update or speak to you about something? I'm sure that's normal, but then the equalizer settings don't come back after the NAV is done talking? It stays in that flat, high treble state?

Usually comes back after a while or when i start the car again.

I agree, STEye, nitpicks aside its an awesome car. The squeaky seat is a new thing for me, and is way more annoying than the windows. Driving this Outback makes me realize how much I love the Impreza.

Default Consumer Reports "Top Picks 2012"

A redesigned, significantly improved Camry Hybrid has helped Toyota capture five of the 10 spots on this year’s Top Picks list. The other Toyotas that made the cut are the Prius hybrid, the Highlander and RAV4 SUVs, and the Sienna minivan. This is the first time since 2003 that one brand has so dominated the list.

In addition to the Camry and Highlander, two other new picks are the Hyundai Sonata and the redesigned Subaru Impreza. The other selections are returning models: the Chevrolet Avalanche, Ford Mustang, and Infiniti G.

Default Consumer Reports's Take on the Impreza

Redesigned for 2012, the all-wheel-drive Impreza is a well-rounded sedan with nimble handling and a compliant, absorbent ride that rivals some luxury sedans. Fuel economy of 27 mpg overall is impressive for an AWD car. The roomy interior includes a relatively spacious rear seat, simple controls, and refreshingly good visibility. The only real shortcoming is so-so noise isolation. Based on the previous Impreza, we expect above-average reliability. Last year’s pick, the Hyundai Elantra, remains an excellent alternative that costs several thousand dollars less and provides slightly better gas mileage but no AWD.

This should help resale value when I trade in my Impreza later this year

Well I got a call that my car is ready. No word on the seat or windows. So I'm calling SOA.

I've decided to hold off on buying a new car all together. For what I'm going to get, I can't justify the higher payment when my current car (ep3) is running great. Hope you all enjoy your new 2012's!

It might be better to write to them. It is slower but my family has never had luck with calling corporate headquarters and gotten a reply with somebody qualified to answer.

What exactly did your dealer do to pass off the window issue? Was it a simple "could not duplicate" excuse like usual?

Actually yes, they gave me the "couldnt duplicate" answer/runaround. A quick call to SOA and I have a complaint filed and they are following up on it. SOA was extremely helpful and polite on the phone. According to the manager of the dealer, the service manager is not very popular.
My seat was squeaking in the upper back area. It was what sounded like springs rubbing together. The seat now doesnt sound quite the same. It has a pronounced click/thunk on the part right below my left shoulder blade. I think they just punched the seatback several times. When I sit in the passenger seat, its fine. The drivers seat feels lumpy in the back and has a very "springy" feel. I do have the seat warmers, I'm wondering if its somehow related. The only thing the Outback had that was better was the seats. They were much firmer and didnt make squeaky springy sounds. I wonder if Legacy seats would fit...
I was pleasantly surprised at the genuine helpfulness of the cs rep at SOA.

Wow! SOA actually sounds easy to deal with compared to the people at the dealership. We will be writing to SOA and hopefully get a good reply like that. Thanks for the info!

That's competitive with what they got on cars like the Cruze (26), Focus (28), and Elantra (29). They also have a video review with a few more comments on the Impreza http://www.consumerreports.org/conte...top-picks.html

I think Edmunds has it. I'm not sure why I couldn't get Truecar to currently show PZEV for my area.

Where are you located? I ask because in the North East there is a different Invoice Price, thanks to Mr Brinklin (Subaru North East) is a separate entity from Subaru of America.

Question for VIP buyers, is there any stipulation preventing a person (such as myself) trading in or selling a VIP purchased vehicle in a certain amount of time since I purchased the car???

Also NY & Northern NJ go through SDC (Subaru Distributors Corp) which has different invoice prices as well. Scroll back a few pages here or on the pricing thread. Someone posted a pic of dealer cut sheets with invoice pricing shown.

SDC in NY has slightly higher invoice prices. For example, fog lights invoice for NY was roughly $30-$40 higher than invoice for rest of the country who goes through SOA.
