Hey all, went into my dealer for my first oil change. While there i talked up the parts guy about pricing for different add-ons. He ended up giving me a list of all add ons with a price including labor. Here it is, I scanned it to a PDF and put it on Google Docs.

I want to get a hood deflector, I can get it for half the cost the dealer wants for it installed. Anyone know how it is mounted?

Yeah, those prices seem pretty high. I got my dealer to order the aero cross bars for $155, your price list has them for $250.

Here's the instructions for installing the hood deflector, doesn't look very hard.

Is this it? http://www.perrinperformance.com/spe...hifter-adapter

Have you installed the bushings? Did you have to use a jack to drop the transmission like the instructions tell you to do?

Has anyone taken the oem brake pads off and put ceramic pads on the new impreza? And if so what brand did you use?

Just curious as to why you would want to do that? The OEM brakes stop fine with no noise, IMO.

The OEM brakes seem to produce more brake dust than any other brakes I have ever used. The alloys get dirty after a week of use (note that I do live on a hill and am constantly braking downhill)

hard to beat $80 for a shifter! I'd like to hear how it improves over stock too!

Thanks for the link. Those are the prices including installation. So I could get the parts ordered for less. But if I were doing that I would just order them offline because they are going to be even cheaper that way.

First oil change Sunday. Fumoto Valve is the 108 that I used NOT the 105 like the websites say. Everyone was right on here. Thanks for the help!

OW20 Amsoil OE put in if anyone is wondering.

Downshift. You are creating your own problem by riding the brakes. Unless you have a base model with a CVT, downshift with the paddles or the 5 speed to avoid this problem.

I guess there's an advantage of having sport rims.

I love my sport rims. Not just for the design/color (match DGM so nicely) but because they always look clean!

I need someone with a 2008+ WRX and a 2012 Impreza hatch to do some photo investigation for me.

Check the rotation of the midpipe flange, and the length of the midpipe.

Also, if you have an intake on it, do a compare to see if it would fit the 2012 Impreza.

Pleaseeeeeeee.

I wouldn't know about the exhaust. But the intake definitely wouldn't fit. You are talking about a turbo engine versus a n/a engine. You would have Hester luck making the regular impreza intake work for our cars.

i was totally thinking about this when i walked past a DGM sport the other day which was filthy "body wise" but the wheels looked "normal."

it's been my experience that brake dust tends to die down somewhat as the car/new brake pads see some use (sort of a break in period), but time will tell.

i know i brake a lot more in this car then i used to driving a manual transmission in my previous car, so that also contributes to what i see. added on that is the fact that my old car had wheel covers which likely allowed less brake dust to get through to the front side of the wheel.
