for eg, are the side cargo nets big enough to hold a 5 qt container of oil? (bought some last weekend was unamused to hear the container sliding around in the back and slamming into the seats and side panels)
I don't have the side cargo nets, but I do have the rear seat back cargo net instead of the standard cargo net. I put fleeces, gloves, wiper blades, hats, etc in the net & then tuck my wiper fluid between the rear seat back & the cargo net itself. It holds it in perfectly tight there.

I would pack something more..... necessary than wiper fluid like CVT fluid or Oil or Coolant. Wiper fluid seems kind of like a waste of space.

There's plenty of other things in my car, I was responding to someone how I use the space between the rear seat back & cargo net to keep things from sliding around that I don't want to keep IN the net. But thanks for the lesson.

to each their own on what they want to do, or not do, with this car. but just to clarify... there's no comma, no pause... just... BECAUSE RACE CAR. it's all over this damn forum in the WRX/STI threads & the cars themselves. @apexracer - personally made me laugh, clearly it was a joke.

I just underlined the reason you're not getting better gas mileage. Too much weight in the vehicle.

Assume much? It's not enough crap to weigh my car down that much. Would you like an itemized list & a weight on that? Because collectively it probably only weighs as much as stuffed back pack seeing as it would all fit in one. How 'bout you add me to your ignore list.

I'm only at 200 miles, and my car mileage is fine. I too have too much weight in the vehicle, but that's only fixable with diet or liposuction

Funny, I ignore most of what you say... you're the one who can't sit back in silence & makes assumptions & needs to comment on nearly everything I post on. The end. I'm done. Go away. Have your last word as I'm sure you will.

Carry on folks.

If you are loosing CVT fluid or coolant then you're having big issues with your car and probably should get it towed to the dealer. I think SleepnMnky's idea is more useful for everyday needs.

I how often do you refill your windshield wiper fluid? Useful every 6 months? Seems like extra not needed weight

in my experience i have never thanked god i had windshield washer fluid in my car. Coolant, is another story

I go through a few bottles in the winter. All that road salt builds up quick. So yeah, therehavebeen days I was very thankful to have some.

Yeah and if you're out of fluid during the winter and it snows, you're screwed!

auskip07, if you are worried about 1 gallon of fluid being extra weight, I assume you never fill your gas tank?

I would consider gas a necessary fluid so yes i do fill my tank. Atlanta winters are much different than you northern's winters. But i guess our heat is worse so thats where the coolant comes into play. (at least for previously owned vehicles)

You seem to be very critical over what SleepNMkny's got in the back seat, all I am saying it explains the bad gas mileage? It is not helpful nor constructive to make comments like that.

Anybody have a 2012 WRX sedan and feel like braking performance is super weak? I have 250 miles on it and got it about 3 weeks ago. Pushing the pedal hard doesn't grab like my 08' did and I bought that new also.

Could be the pads aren't seated yet and I need to give it more time, but I'm pretty confused by it because my 08' wagon felt much stronger.

Also, are all imprezas coming with the red hazard button now? Just curious because I ordered my car and it was delivered with the red hazard. I didn't ask for it and certainly not complaining, just wanted to know.
I don't have a WRX, but I also feel that the braking performance in my 2012 Sport is lack-luster. I'm assuming that the rotors are on the smaller side and the stock pads aren't very aggressive, but braking isn't nearly as good as my mother's Mazda 3 hatch, which is a very comparable car.

An option is to change the pads to something aftermarket. Sometimes that comes at a cost of heavier brake dusting and sometimes noise though.

I think I'll just live with the stock brakes for now. Maybe I'll change the pads and rotors when I do the scheduled 30000 mi brake fluid change. I usually just down shift a lot to help compensate.

BTW, while I'm posting again, anyone figure out what that dangling connector in front of my fuse panel is? I posted a pic a couple of pages back.

I bought the folding cargo organizer from Subaru and it is great for keeping things from sliding around in the back of the hatch -- especially on top of the rear cargo rubber mat that I also bought:

Not where I bought it (I got it with my $500 pre-order incentive)
