I was thinking about fastening 2 or 3 together, stepping them on one end, to gain more height.
I would just get the metal ramp at walmart and not worry about it too much.

I already have metal ramps, but that only lifts one end at a time. Would rather have it level for oil changes, and it's not necessary to lift it 6-9 inches for that.

I have the Rhino ramps, and really like them. Cheap, light, strong, and don't slip on the floor.

You really want it level for checking the oil. Im sure you can make due with it being tilted while its draining. Especailly if its being tilted in the direction of the oil drain hole.

W00T, I received my sedan spoiler and I got both discounts!

BTW, did you know that you have to drill 12 holes in your trunk to install this! I hope it looks good, cuz there is no going back for me!

Put more clear on? Seems to me Subaru uses some thin paint and not much clear. My Audi was 13 years old, 160k, and did not have many chips on it the size of the one I got on my Impreza with 5k. Ofcourse that car was 35k in 1999, Impreza was 20k presently. So its not a fair comparison. Just concerned how the hood will look in a year or two. And how it will handle the heavily salted Ohio roads.

VW uses paint pretty close to Audi and puts it on cars cheaper than the Impreza. There shouldn't be a cost issue here.

It may be an environmental issue. Subaru tends to be environmentally friendly when it comes to the production of vehicles. Paints and paint processes can be a factor with regards to that.

It's due to the tempered glass. The heat treatment can cause it.

Possible. But when I was shopping my Subaru the dealer was not using their environmentally safe production as a selling point, at all. If it really was like this due to that, they would have been trained by Subaru to say so.

I'd love to see a Consumer Reports, or similar, do some paint endurance testing comparisons. I feel like Subaru would be at the bottom, even behind lower end Chevy/Fords. My brother just got a Hyundai and the paint looks/feels much thicker.

While I'm talking paint, do they sell touch up paint for the wheels on the sport premium model?

I think the only way to settle this is have a paint thickness tester.

http://www.autobodytoolmart.com/prog...FQkaQgodKi0Iog

If people determine that the paint is ok thickness wise then people will claim its too brittle and the complaining will continue

Congrats!

I want 2013 Impreza info already...

I REALLY enjoyed the Base trim and I could see myself using an Impreza for a long time based on the gas mileage alone.

My issue is practicality versus sportiness. I'm almost 28 and still single, so practicality isn't calling me THAT much. haha

If anyone else is looking for oil to buy online I found this: https://www.shopthedude.com/prd.cl/PEK14070

Don't know much about Peak oils, but supposedly it's the proper specification that the manual calls for. Pretty good price for 6 quarts, have to pay shipping, but $13 seems reasonable.

Not all oils are created the same. I have free oil changes for the next 2 years so let me know how that oil works out for ya. I have used Peak Antifreeze in my vehicles and havent really thought they performed bad.

Thinking of trading my 2012 Impreza sport for a BRZ. I live near the Canadian Rockies so 6 months of winter and 6 months of wet and dry months. What do you guys think?

If it were me I'd get a wrx instead if I wanted a sportier car in that climate. I'm not real crazy about the Subyota BRZ anyway

I'd say only get the BRZ if have money to get a winter beater. If not, it's going to be really hard for you to get around in the winter. Some great roads up there!

I drove the BRZ and I have the Impreza. They are totally different cars. The Impreza is practical and the BRZ is ridiculously impractical. The trunk is very small and shallow and the backseat is non-usable. Since it snows in Colorado, if you don't have another car to drive in the snow, you would be very foolish to get the BRZ.

I have to ask if u have driven the car? I read the articles and my fiancÚ is buying a 2012 Impreza Sport. Went to the dealer yesterday and drive a BRZ while we were there. I'm just not impressed. If u drove and like it, support the new car.

anyone with the seat back protectors in the hatch have rattling issues? i got mine installed last weekend, and hadn't driven my car since until yesterday, the middle section of the seat protectors isn't very secure and it rattles against the security cover. the 2 options i was thinking of:
1. more heavy duty velcro to secure the loose areas.
2. remove the security cover all together.

anything else I could try?
