Thanks! I used Krylon Fusion for Plastics. It was pretty simple to remove once I figured out how to remove the 4 snaps at the bottom. You have have to pinch and push out.

I know my father-in-law employs the door shut test on every car he encounters. If it doesn't completely shut gently, he'll claim it's poorly hung, or it's been abused by the occupants. His '73 F250 still has factory fresh doors that cause purists to swoon (seen it and always laugh..."Nice doors!"). Since knowing him, I now cringe every time I hear/see someone slam their car doors. It's unnecessary and wears on the car. The Subaru, like a lot of new, especially economy, cars have light doors (relatively) and you're gonna have to swing em shut a bit. If someone is getting in and out of your car throwing the door open, slamming it shut, yell at them! It's not a barn door, Hercules, the horses ain't gonna get away! I give him a look everytime we get out of his Impreza Sport, and the door doesn't shut all the way with a slight shutting motion: What is this Crap! I'll ask him; Hey, learn to shut a car door! He responds. It's funny how aesthetics change when you're the Driver!

I noticed the website is different now, and some options just aren't there anymore. I've read grill install threads before, so you can probably just get one yourself on ebay or at one of the online parts sites.

This has probably been answered around here, but I'm not sure how to search for it, so bear with me:

Is the Sport raised because of longer struts or springs? Or is the magic in the tophats?

Thanks!

Looking really tight man. If I didn't know better, I would of thought you had it professional painted to match the car. So did you remove the front bumper and grill to paint?

Looking up the part # for the struts will give you atleast part of the answer. If they are different then that might be a clue

this might be a dumb question but is there a way to skip to artists by first letter when listening to an iPod via the usb? For example, now I have to manually scroll through all of the artists if I want to get to "M", is there a way to select the letter "M" and then start scrolling from there? My old Pioneer deck had this feature and was really good.

In the dealer Monday afternoon with yet another low oil warning. It will be going back tomorrow as the airbag warning light came on ,on the trip back from a friends house, about 20 minutes ago! My confidence in this car is shot at this point.

I feel for you man... At least you know there is a TSB for the airbag malfunction, it's a replaceable part that should fix the problem.

Thanks. I saw this video on YouTube where the guy heated up this type of plastic with a butane torch to break it down in order to have the spray paint stick to it better. Then he rubbed it down with 91% alcohol. I don't know if I'm saying it right but something to that effect. I used a heat gun since I didn't have a torch and it came out really nice. I applied several coats and used the whole can.
I just removed the grill, it snaps right out.

I know you dealt with this with your first Impreza. Did the light come on and just stay on? Mine was on last night but not this morning.

Did you check the dip stick. Where was the oil level?

Interesting. I'd be afraid of deforming the plastic using a torch or even a heat gun, but I guess it worked out fine for you. The grille really just snaps out? I thought there were also 4 screws that need to be removed? Or did you just take off the silver parts of the grille?

Why? They are scraping speed humps as is. The slightly raised Sports seem to be more desirable here.

Somebody complained his suspension sagged and he had to install spacers.

That was I

I dont see where there is a difference in suspension concerning the Sport vs non. Im sure subaru would have marketed it better if there was a difference

Wheels
Fog lights
Roof Rails
color options

look to be the only changes. Whats sport about it?

rear stability bar and rear suspension rebound springs are only installed on the higher trim levels (Sport, limited, Premium).

The Sport is taller, which is a big issue for snow country (though not as tall as a Forester or Outback or the upcoming XV)

I do have a premium maybe there was a mistake.

The sport is only 0.2 inches higher ground clearance which is pretty insignificant. But I do wonder what it is that gives it the extra 0.2 inches.

Possibly stiffer springs.
