300 bucks. When you build your own on the website, given my zip code in Oregon, it makes it a mandatory accessory. Hey, you get an extra trunk badge, too! (As if there weren't already enough)

I'm a long way from replacing the stock tires, but these look like a good choice for a low rolling resistance tire:

Same happened to me, invoice is 2 something for it so i just paid it. My dealer didn't want to write up a formal purchase agreement so i didn't have much choice. Either way whatever

I'm new to all this, but when I looked at all the reviews for tires in that category from your link, it rates it at #8. Wouldn't you want one that has a better overall rating?

...or do we with our AWD look for something specific for our vehicles. Just wondering, as I too will be wanting something better when the time comes.

Can anyone tell me if you can attach a hose to the F108N, and then open/close the valve, without jacking up a 2012 Impreza? Or is it too far under the car, or at an awkward angle, requiring lifting the car for access?

I was looking for the photo that zeeper referenced, but could not find it in the 513 pages of posts. Or by searching. Any chance we could get a new post of the pic (maybe in an oil change thread for 11+) or a link to the specific post? Thanks!

I was thinking it would be nice to have a general sticky thread for the 2012 2.0i with references to useful info that is commonly discussed.

Great info, thanks for posting.

Can you please elaborate on the "fill plug next to the oil filter". What is its purpose?

I've never had a car with a fill plug, and I've never had a car with the oil filter located topside in the engine compartment.

Is there something special that needs to be done with this fill plug, when changing the oil and filter?

I think he means the oil filler cap where you put the oil in, to vent while the oil drains.

Does anyone Pre fill their Oil filter before they put it on the car? I am of the school that does and was wondering if that creates a mess when installing it.

Of course it creates a mess, how are you planning to keep all of the oil in the filter while screwing it in place with the holes on the bottom?

I wasnt going to fill it all the way up but i am just in the habit of making sure oil is where it needs to be on the first start up

I guess the next best alternative is to send some down the tube before you screw on the filter and make sure you start it up before it drains down

I do this as the very first step. I pour some fresh oil into the center hole, and let the filter stand (this is also good time to lubricate the filter gasket). By the time I am ready to mount the filter, the oil gets absorbed by the filter media, and no mess is created.

Anyone know what the part number is for the fog light circle grill thing that goes inside the larger housing? 2012 5door basic. I just got a replacement housing but it didn't come with the grill hole fill thing.

It's true. SOA fixed the issue for me though, I am very happy about that. Invoice is $277 on the option.

Yes. Some of the noise is wind- you can tell when you drive during a windy day. I think the majority of the noise is tire as you can tell when you drive over train tracks or bumps the noise gets louder. IMO that indicates tire noise. My sisters escape hybrid sounds very similar with the low rolling resistance tires. I think softer tires will dramatically decrease highway noise.

I was limiting my search to low rolling resistance (LRR) all-weather tires, and specifically ones that got good ratings for noise and gas mileage. So now ya know. I did not do an exhaustive search, as I'm not in the market for new tires.

I'm not losing hair over the loss of a mpg or 2 by going with non LRR tires. when these Yoko's are toast. I'll buy a second set of wheels and have summer and winter tires ready.
