I did the same 50/35 3M. Its the right combo.
I've never tinten a car before and I really like the glare reduction for when I am getting passed by taller vehicles. I'm probably on the older end of the spectrum too at 29

Anyone want my DGM sport aero mudflaps or whatever they are called? I am going rally armor route.

I'm thinking first things are tint, probably 20% all around (nobody cares in CA). rally armor, sport grill, sti underlip, maybe some suspension mods later. Love the car so far, descended down Donner pass last night way too fast. Handles really great. Lower end of gears is a bit gutless, but if kept at high revs it's a fine car to go uphill in Not sure how that affects AT but isn't too hard to get used to these long ass gears with a MT. Kind of fun actually, a little different. Got a bit sideways in the dirt this afternoon too.. hard to resist during break-in but we're flirting with 5k rpms at about 500 miles now. Pretty sure the car is totally happy. Plan to stop "break-in" around 7 or 800 miles.

Pics later.. there's nothing to show yet!

Went for a 2 hour drive to visit a friends farm this weekend, the pouring rain on the way down proved how good the Subarus AWD is in variable slippery conditions and what a good choice the 2012 Impreza has been for us so far.

The old late '80s (?) Subaru you see in the background first did duty as a family Wagon for several hundred thousand kms before being coverted to a 'Roo shooting vehicle for many years then finally given unregistered a few years ago to my friend to use as a hard working paddock basher carrying heavy things around his farm, yes it's still very much alive and kicking.

Default Bluetooth madness: iphone 4, mapquest, ...

so, i am running into some odd bluebooth behavior that maybe someone with some experience can help me with.

i essentially do not use my phone while driving and have it set up for emergency phone calls which i'll pick up if it's my wife. however, i realized in activating bluetooth on my iphone 4 (turning it on), i get funky behavior with my Maquest app which i use for navigation.

the app defaults to use the subaru speakers/HU for sound output. that would be great in principle: but it doesn't work. essentailly: no sound comes out. even if i switch the output to aux/BT, it starts up the music player, but not navigation info comes through!

so, right now, i have to manually select the iphone speaker every time i use the mapquest app under it's settings mode which is a pain and inconvenient.

any tips/suggestions on how to overcome this issue?

Default Phone Contacts Via Bluetooth

I have an Iphone 4S and I want to import my contacts to the bluetooth.

It seems as though I have to input each contact individually?

Is there a way to upload all contacts at once?

*This is the first car I ever bought with bluetooth installed.

The bluetooth seems to be a bit buggy.
I too can't import my contacts automatically and after a bluetooth connection
the speaker on the phone doesn't work. I have to reboot the phone when I come home.
Is a fix going to come for this?

I get that you have to manually input it but can you do all contacts at once or does it have to be once contact at a time?

I used my Verizon phone and it made me do one at a time. The car version of "manual" was still to talk to it and it had a hard time understanding me so it took forever. This is my first car bluetooth experience. Once I finally got 3 numbers in it with do-overs, it worked like a charm. I have to turn my phone on and then touch the bluetooth earpiece button to get asked whom I'd like to call and it understands my voice and makes the call. Adding all the contacts at once did not seem to be an option for me!

Speaking of knobs, I didn't feel like spending very much so I got this one:
Amazon.com: RAZO RA114A WR SPEC 240g Shift Knob, Leather: AutomotiveAmazon.com: RAZO RA114A WR SPEC 240g Shift Knob, Leather: Automotive

So far I like it a lot.

That sucks. I know that my friend Kia Soul uploads all the contacts automatically when you pair it via Bluetooth.

Why can't Subaru get up on this technology.

Price. Subaru tries to keep the cost of the car down by choosing sub-par technology as standard equipment.

This is why the 2013 Impreza Base model will come standard with Bluetooth that will be the same as the Limited without the NAV, just as an example.

It's fairly small, maybe slightly larger than a golf ball. I'll try to remember to measure it tonight.
