That's what I'm thinking. I don't want to raise the car up any (looks cool, kinda wish i had bought one, but if i wanted a taller subaru i would have bought a forester)

Maybe the radios well get cheaper too

It's going to be wider too and throw off your speedometer by a mile per hour. If your speedometer is a mile too fast as mine is that might be a good thing.
This URL gives some info but can't say if the width will fit but myself I wouldn't go wider

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

I was thinking that 195/55/17 might be a good choice and give more pothole protection but I don't know if you can get them as it is a bit of an oddball size

If you live in an area that is prone to snow and/or slush, probably not a good idea, even though they will fit. There really is not much clearance between the tire and the wheel well on the Imprezas and the slush/snow "gathers" in the wheel well.

I'm not sure if it is cheaper but try out 225/45/17 DWS and see if they are as cheap as the 215's. I run the 225 DWS's on my car and they are great. They also don't throw your speedo off as much as the 215 setup would.

06SE, can you post picks of your setup as I am thinking about going the same size on our stock 17x7 or some aftermarket 17x7.5 rims. If you can post a sidewall shot...

The 225/45-17 tire fits just fine (no bulges) on my 17x7 BBS Rk's. I actually ran this setup on my previous Legacy and had zero issues.

That looks great! A 1.25 cm (x 2 for the diameter) difference in height but more tread width compared to the oem tire and rim setup. I think I may go that size on some Enkei 17 x 7.5" RPF1s.

What is the Max Wattage and Voltage on the outlets of the 2012 Impreza?

I bought one of these the other day and plugged in an air mattress pump and it blew out my fuse.

I do recall seeing it in the manual, but I don't have it handy. Regardless of the power rating of the pump, it appears the initial power surge drawn by the pump exceeds the car's capabilities. Motors often have an initial power surge of 2X-3X their rating to get going.

I've used a DC-powered air mattress pump with no problems, with a standard cigarette-lighter car plug. They're pretty cheap, and probably the way to go.

I was just wondering, what's the fastest anyone has gone in their 2012 2.0? I've hit 102mph (according to my Garmin GPS) at a location and date that must remain undisclosed. I'm never going to do that again. I don't trust the stock Yoko's that much.

I know of one report on this forum of someone hitting 130 mph, which I wouldn't have guessed was possible unless going downhill. With a tail wind. And a BMW in front towing a very powerful magnet.

Did some testing today on odometer error, looks like mine is either under 3%, but greater than 2.5% or it varies with speed. Most of my driving today was under 60, but longest one way trip with my car, 98.5 miles. Everything i have tested at higher speeds was 3.25%-3.8% off at 75-80. I have a trip in a few weeks that i will be able to test it again and see if i get under 3% at higher speeds or not.

I was driving today in the rain and got cut off by someone and had to slam on the brakes. I know what ABS feels like and sounds like, and mine activated for sure, but I also heard two very loud thuds from the front of the car. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this/knows what it is? I know this is not part of the ABS system but it could possibly be part of EBD as I've never had a car with it before.

Thuds are normal when the car hits ABS, if you can tell it is coming from the brake system

I wouldn't worry about it. One of my friends has a Corolla and in that car is sounds exactly like you just ran over a metal trash can when the ABS activates.

ABS systems are not designed for driving comfort.

Do a few sets of leg lifts and crunches. That should do the trick.

Now, now... no need to stereotype. I am perfectly capable of driving like an idiot in either of my cars, thank-you-very-much.

That's... pretty funny. haha

I find the statement "fastest 2012 Impreza" to be highly ironic, by the way. hahaha

Are we calling these "4G Imprezas" yet?

Between all the cars I have activated ABS in, I can't think of two that sounded the same. I have had small, soft "pulses" all the way to grinding noises.

this reminds me of the "medium" speed police chase with a smart car. some idiot was running from the police in a smart car. the top speed is like 85ish mph. some people drive like that cruising. anyways, i find it retarded when people take economy cars and drive weckless and speed like crazy pretending they are race cars. should have bought a wrx.
