Its probably nothing I agree, but it scares me a little to think this could lead to worse problems when i have this perfectly good expensive extended warranty. But I really dont want anyone tearing into my car for no reason. idk.

BTW thanks for your guys help.

I've found the same thing. Doesn't happen as much in the warmer months but it the winter the whole car shakes for a few seconds while the engine warms up & my RPMs go back & forth until warmed up like he noticed.

I did, when I got my car in February. Since we've had this blazin' hot summer with 70+ degrees @ 6am on the regular, the shakes don't happen anymore but I have a feeling they'll be back as the temp starts to cool. My car is garaged too BTW.

Lol oh good, so not only will the throttle yo-yo during cold start, but will start shivering in the winter. I love my car. haha

Today I took an off-ramp super quick without braking and she took it like a champ. Wheels chirping a bit but hardly felt any body roll and felt in control the whole way. Was awesome and got the adrenaline pumping.

After i turn the key, the rpms will peak and settle down a bit, and settle, and settle, until it sounds relatively quiet almost like its about to shut off (around 1000 rpms) then shoot up to about 1800. Then hover around there until warm.

Temps havent been near freezing or anything. Should i look into this further?
Same thing happens with my sport 5MT. It would almost stall on startup then shoot up the rpms to prevent it.
I think it's normal... won't concern me unless it actually does stall.

2012 ~9k miles

Any tips for a cleaner for the dashboard? The soft-touch material seems somewhat absorbent, so I want to be careful. Tried water but didn't seem to get the hand prints.

I should post it in Tires section but this is about 2012 Impreza after all so I hope you guys don't mind. I got stock steel wheels from my uncle that came off 2008 Impreza. I did some research and they came with 205/55/16 tires. I want to use them to mount winter tires. I want Blizzaks either WS70 205/55/16 or WS60 195/55/16. My question is will the latter fit on steelies I have?

drove in a thunderstorm last weekend while on a road trip. speed limit was 70 i drove 55-60 on the freeway. i hit a small puddle and by God it scared me a little bit. that small tiny puddle felt like driving through a large puddle in my s2000. it felt like a giant puddle slowing my car down. these are terrible tires for small light puddle. i was hoping people were being too sensitive about these tires but man they are worse than alot of my racing tires and summer tires. now, im scared with the predicted el nino wet winter.

Edit: should have mention I have the OEM tires. i will most likely go with G-MAX AS-03 as my next tire. cheap but good enough for me.

I don't know which Impreza model you have, so I also don't know which tires you have.

I use Meguiars Quick Interior Detailer which restores "the original appearance". Works nice without making the matte surface shiny. I spray on the towel instead of the dash directly. Works on the harder plastic parts of the stereo area too.

I've haven't noticed any issues with my 17x7" Avids when going through puddles.

I second that...even tire rack (although the overall reviews aren't great) has good reviews for wet traction for these tires.

Has anyone with Rally Armor noticed they scrape extremely easily? If I have people in the back I scrape on everything! The dampening rate seems to work well but the spring rate seems very low in these cars! Does anyone else feel the same way? Picture for the paragraph.
