There is no warranty problem at all with that, unless something in the rear suspension wears out prematurely and it is directly related to the stiffer sway bar.

But other issues, like a blown motor, would still be covered under the warranty because it is completely unrelated.

Now don't go mounting a turbo, that would mess with the warranty for most of the engine, transmission, and drivetrain, because adding HP would void the warranty for issues that arose from a built engine.

Those issues account for many posts on the warranty thread, people who started adding power parts or retuning their car during the warranty period who eventually had ringland issues, or a blown piston, etc.

If you are gonna mess with things like that, you fall into the pay to play category, and should not expect the manufacturer to warranty that type of repair.

I can't tell you how many times I've read posts like this now. Reading does wonders to all who are wondering.

Can somebody with '12 Impreza (preferably Limited) check if their sidemirrors have little swirl marks or whatever they are called (heated mirrors).

I have a '13 Premium with the all weather package and I can't see any heating element on the heated mirrors. You can check the pics I posted earlier. I only noticed a heating element under the wiper blades. I assume that's done purposely so that its not a distraction or impedes the drivers vision when using the mirrors.

It's not visible because it's behind the mirror. Next time your mirror has frost on it pay attention & you'll see the coil pattern that defrosts first. That shows you where behind the mirror the heating element lies.

I've yet to have frost on my mirror(s) which would explain why I haven't seen what you're describing. I haven't even had my car for 2 weeks yet! However, I know exactly what you're talking about, I just thought there was something else I should be looking for that would be more obvious than a hidden heating element.

Nope, you can't see the heating elements in the mirrors. It not only clears frost, but also condensation on the mirrors.

If you know how to turn on your back window's heater, then you know how to turn on the heater in your mirrors. They all turn on from the same switch.

I'm impressed that there is a heating element in the mirrors, as the last car I had with heated mirrors had ducts coming from the defroster vent which didn't work nearly as well.

what car is that, that sounds like a horrible idea?

my 97.5 Buick Regal, our 2006 Jetta, and the Subaru all have the electric style.

I don't think that they were for your outside mirrors.

The air vents are almost always (unless it is some oddball car) to defog the side windows so you can see the mirrors, not to clear the mirrors themselves. I've never seen an electrically-heated mirror with visible traces, those are always on the back of the mirror, behind the reflective layer.

It was a 1996 Ford Taurus, which I am now reading had heating elements. I never saw any spiral pattern or anything to indicate the heating element, other than the mirrors had "heated" written on them. I swear that there was some kind of open duct going into the door near the mirror though.

The pattern of the mirror heating elements is quite distinct on our Imprezas. On my VW TDI, the heated mirrors cleared uniformly so that you couldn't detect a pattern. But both systems are effective.

The reason I asked is because I was parking my wife's 2012 Legacy last night and her side mirrors have those little markings indicating that they are heated. My impreza has cold weather package as well but no markings on side mirrors. I can't even check as we have exceptionally warm winter this year.

Does anyone know where to get the rims on the sport premium aftermarket? I could have sworn that someone posted a link to a site selling them a day or two ago on one of these forums but I can't find them anymore. Any clues? Thanks!

A lot of 90's cars had the front left and right most HVAC vents in the doors ala .

There would be a gasket at the right and left side of the dash that corresponded with some ducting in the door panel to direct the HVAC air to the vent. Some cars had this to direct airflow into the door panel and towards the side window too.

Are fog lights available as an addition to the premium model? I see them as something you can add to the car in the build section of the Subaru website but on the vehicle specs the premium lists them as "not available"

You should be able to get them. They were available for the 2012 models. The only difference between the add-on kits are that you don't get the foglight control on the stalk. The button is placed near the traction control switch.
