You have to take off the black fog covers first. Then you'll see a black "ring" bracket that holds the fog lamp in place. The bracket has 4 tabs with a hole in the center of each tab. 2 on the right, and 2 on the left. There is a bolt that goes though one of the lower tabs that holds the bracket to the bumper. It's easier to get to the bolt from under the car. To do this you have to remove the two push clips that hold up the black trim piece under the bumper just below where the fogs lights are. Then pull down on the trim piece until you can squeeze your hand between it and the bumper to get to the head of the bolt which is facing toward the rear of the car. i beleive the the bolt is a 10mm. Once you take out the bolt, you'll be able to remove the fog lamp and bracket from the front of the car. Pm me if you have any questions.

If you're just looking to change the bulb you can open up the trim piece below the fog light and change it from there. You don't need to pull the light out to change the bulb. I believe there are two clips and a screw that need to be removed to open the bottom up enough to change the bulb.

I didn't read this until after my last post. He might be right. You definitely have to remove three thing to open it up and the definitely are both screw(s) and clip(s).

I've noticed a lot of people changing their horns to the hella supertones, but has anybody done a swap to "regular" horns? I can't stand the tinny sound the stock, or supertones make.

I don't know maybe connections might be different, or maybe someone that's done it has a suggestion on a specific horn?? I was just curious.

Soldering is the way to go though. Ive been actually waiting for you to snake wires first so I can get a scheme. Hopefully you got inner door card pics. None the less, center cubby idea is great. Cant wait to see it.

Big project underway. Got a steal of a deal on an SPT Exhaust for a '13 WRX 5-Door. Couldn't help but explore the possibility of installing it on my '12 Impreza. A trusted local Subaru shop is helping me make this a reality!



We test fit everything today. The pipe bolts up to the Impreza just fine. It's the hangers and tailpipes on the muffler portion that require some adjustments. I'll be cutting out two spots for the tailpipes in the rear and the hangers will be modified to attach to the existing mounting points for the old muffler. We're shooting for a February 21st installation.

Had this idea awhile ago when I got a deal on an '08 STi hatch axleback but just couldn't bear cutting into a perfectly good rear bumper lol. Can't wait to see the results!

Won't be done until tomorrow night or maybe Saturday afternoon. I only got a few pics with the cards off, I could get more in the future when I do dynamat, but that is at least 6 weeks away.

I also decided to further dim the footwell and door leds, each is only getting 6mA now as that is plenty bright. They are rated for 30mA (1200mcd), which would be blinding in the dark.

For the overhead the glue is still drying so I don't have them installed yet. Instead of 1, I went back to the original plan of 2 LEDs but they will only be getting 4.5mA of power (rated at 30mA, 2400mcd each). The beam is only 15 degrees and will either cover the shifter or the cupholders, not both, hence 2 LEDs now. If the shifter light is bright enough to light the cubby as well I will be skipping that light as I don't feel like taking the radio out again (see my sat/amp install to see why I don't want to do it again)

I will post pics when I get on a real computer, I also plan to make a thread on this.

2 reasons I don't think this is the same exhaust as the SPT one I'm using. First, the pipe has bends in it that are much more extreme than the one I just test fit. Second, the dual exhaust layout is different. The SPT one has both coming off each side of the muffler whereas the one you linked has one coming off each side with a branch for the second tip.

I figured it was too good to be true! Looks like this is the one i'll need...but a grand is quite pricey... I suppose ill wait and see how yours turns out to see what i want to do. Right now I have the muffler delete with the exhaust turndowns and i love the way it sounds, but those quad tips are just awesome

I've been thinking about doing this for awhile but price killed it for me too. The only reason I'm able to do this is the steal of a price I got on my SPT Exhaust. Couldn't pass it up!

8 years ago I got a set of mufflers and the y pipe shipped from socal to ND, it was 70 for shipping and 30 for the mufflers

Has anyone got much experience with the Cusco strut tower brace? I know a couple of people have used them but do they do much for the car...anything noticeable? Is it even worth it?

I have the Cusco brace but I haven't driven my Impreza like my my 84 Corolla GTS or 99 GTI-VR6 (both with strut tower braces) so I can't say if it is worth the 200.00. I've heard the Subaru front end is pretty stiff already so unless you Auto-X the money may be better spent elsewhere. I could never keep my cars bone stock...uugghhh.

That's my problem. I've already got the sway bar on its way. After that I want to upgrade the shift knob (don't like it), and add the sti pedal plates. Beyond that though I can't think of anything worth upgrading...

19mm RSB upgrade is must....Best 100 bucks spent for our cars...
